And the practice of wisdom, and in the commentary on meditation, at the end of meditation, "wisdom" appears, but the meaning is the same, that is, through the practice of meditation. Abandoning suffering and its origin, attaining the peaceful, subdued, and immaculate Nirvana. Here, according to the commentary, peace is abandoning suffering, subduing is subduing the senses, and immaculateness is abandoning afflictions. May we attain the state of liberation that does not age, does not die, does not decay, and does not perish, that is, some non-Buddhists consider the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, as well as the sun and moon, to be liberation, and cling to them as attainable, but it is not so. Please attain the liberation that is free from earth, water, fire, wind, sun, and moon. Unforgetting mindfulness of the object of focus, and wisdom that distinguishes dharmas, and diligence that rejoices in virtue. And the joy of delighting in it, and the extreme pliancy of body and mind, and the concentration of one-pointedness on the object of focus. And the equanimity that arises naturally, these seven are called the limbs of enlightenment. They are the collection of virtues that attain Nirvana. For those who do not have the wisdom to understand the meaning, meditation cannot be accomplished. Moreover, without meditation, one cannot attain special wisdom, that is, Vipassana. For those who have the union of Shamatha and Vipassana, the great ocean of Samsara will dry up, like water in a cow's footprint. The four views that the self is permanent, impermanent, both permanent and impermanent, or neither permanent nor impermanent, and the four views that it has an end, has no end, both has and has no end, or neither has nor has no end, and the four views that the Tathagata exists after death, does not exist, both exists and does not exist, or neither exists nor does not exist, and the fourteen unrevealed evil views of non-Buddhists who believe that body and life are one, different, both one and different, or neither one nor different, in the world, those that were well spoken by the Buddha, the kinsman of the sun, do not contemplate them in your mind. Because the control of evil views does not pacify one's mind. That is to say, it is not necessary to know how they exist.

It is not that meaning, it is not to generate the view of looking at one's own continuum. Then what should one think? The first of the twelve links is that from ignorance, which grasps at the self of a person, arises the second link, action; from that action arises the third link, consciousness in the form of cause and time; from that consciousness arises the fourth link, name and form; from that name and form arises the fifth link, the six sense bases; from that sense base arises the sixth, contact, as taught by the Powerful One. From that contact arises the seventh, feeling; from the basis of feeling arises the eighth, craving; from that craving arises the ninth, grasping; from that grasping arises the tenth, existence; and from that existence arises the eleventh, birth. If there is birth, then there will be sorrow, sickness, old age, and the poverty of desire, death, and fear, etc., uttering cries of lamentation, and unpleasantness, etc. These great heaps of suffering will arise. This is the arising of dependent origination with afflictions, and if considered from the perspective of reversal, old age and death arise from birth, and birth arises from craving, and so on. Thus, if considered from the perspective of purification, when ignorance ceases, then all the aforementioned old age and death and sorrow, etc., will cease. Therefore, when ignorance ceases, action ceases, etc., and also, what does the cessation of old age and death depend on? Know that when birth ceases, old age and death also cease, and also arise from the cessation of existence. As previously stated, speaking together with other bases, and in the twelfth, old age and death are made into one, but old age and death are the remaining limbs. This mode of the twelve links of dependent origination is precious, the essence, and profound, from within the treasury of the speech of the Victorious One, the Powerful Buddha. It is a difficult place to realize. Whoever correctly knows and sees this mode of the twelve links with reason, sees the meaning of suchness taught by the Buddha, it is a supreme view. The twelve links of dependent origination previously explained in that order are spoken of in the sutras.
