What is 'Na'? It refers to the physical eye faculty that, relying on meditative concentration as its support, can see the subtle and coarse forms of its own realm. The manner of seeing varies in scope, ranging from one Yojana to one hundred and three thousand Yojanas. The divine eye of the Buddha directly perceives all subtle and coarse forms of the entire world-system. The meaning of Bodhisattva is: one who strives for perfect enlightenment. The Sanskrit term "बोधि सत्त्व (bodhi sattva)", if translated directly, would simply be "Bodhi-mind," lacking the actual meaning of "heroic." However, considering its significance, it is translated as "mind." This is because, striving for perfect enlightenment for one's own benefit and striving for the Dharmakaya for one's own benefit, one is called "mind"; striving for perfect enlightenment for the benefit of others and striving for the Rupakaya for the benefit of others, one is called "Great Mind." There are other explanations for "Great" as well. The Sanskrit term for Shravaka is "श्रावक (śrāvaka)" or "स्रवक (sravaka)", which means to hear and proclaim. Because they listen to and learn the Mahayana path, along with its fruits, as taught by the supreme Nirmanakaya Buddha, and proclaim it to others, they are called such. As stated in the Lotus Sutra: "Lord, today we have become Shravakas, and we shall accurately proclaim the supreme Bodhi." etc. This text, by explicitly paying homage to the Buddha Jewel and the Sangha Jewel, implicitly pays homage to the Dharma Jewel as well, because paying homage to the qualities of abandonment and realization in their continuum is also attained through meaning. If one thinks that Bodhisattvas should not pay homage to Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, there is no fault in that. Although one should not pay homage with the intention that Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are pursuing Bodhi, Bodhisattvas can, in certain situations, pay homage to Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas in the context of listening to Mahayana Dharma, practicing Dharma together, and accumulating merit. Similarly, if considered from the perspective of refuge in the result, homage is not appropriate, but if considered from the perspective of refuge in the cause, all three types of individuals can take refuge in the Three Jewels and offer homage. Second, the path of bad migrations, etc., one verse.

Therefore, for the path of falling into the three lower realms, such as the ten non-virtues, one should block them, that is, abandon them; for the position of manifest superiority, the path of being born in the heavens and among humans, such as the ten virtues, one should greatly proclaim them; for the means of leading to the state of Buddhahood without old age and death, possessing merits, I prostrate to the mind of bodhi! Regarding the mind of bodhi, if one distinguishes without separating the real and the imputed, there are two types: the conventional mind of bodhi and the ultimate mind of bodhi. The latter is the consciousness of the mind of the great vehicle's noble ones who directly realize emptiness. The former has the same meaning as the generation of bodhicitta in the great vehicle, and its essence is, as the venerable Maitreya said in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "The generation of the mind is for the sake of others, desiring perfect enlightenment." That is, for the sake of others, aiming at the true and complete enlightenment, and corresponding to the intention of fulfilling the conditions and pursuing complete enlightenment, it is a special form of the main consciousness of the great vehicle. If classified, there are two types: the wishing mind and the engaging mind. The ultimate mind of bodhi can purify all sins from the root, and the conventional mind of bodhi can also purify all obscurations of sins that are the cause of the lower realms. As it is said in the Questions of Maitreya: "Maitreya, if a bodhisattva possesses one dharma, he will completely abandon all lower realms, not enter the hands of sinful friends, and quickly realize unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. What is the one dharma? It is this, the mind of bodhi with excellent intention." And as it is said in the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life: "It is like the fire at the end of time, in an instant it can surely burn away all extremely heavy sins." Regarding the benefits of the mind of bodhi, the details are as Maitreya said to Norzang, and I have not seen a more extensive explanation of its benefits than this. The way in which the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, attain the state of no old age and death is, as it is said in the Uttaratantra: "The noble ones have cut off from the root, the suffering of sickness, old age, and death." And "There is no birth and no death, no harm and no old age, it is eternal and constant, peaceful and everlasting."
