From that it arises. Second, offerings are of two kinds: superior offerings and unsurpassed offerings. The first is: Holy flowers, etc., two verses. In what place to offer? To those victors who actually reside and are believed in by the mind, I will make offerings. What things to offer? The holy scattered flowers that exist in the realms of gods and humans, that is, the supreme ones, and the holy garlands woven from various flowers, and the various kinds of musical instruments such as cymbals, lutes, conches, and flutes, and the sandalwood to be anointed and the fragrant ointments mixed with various fragrant incense, and the supreme umbrellas made of silk and precious jewels, and the light of jewels and the supreme bright lamps, and the holy fragrant incense to be burned. Again, as mentioned above, offerings are made to those victors. What to offer? The supreme garments of gods and humans, that is, the holy clothes, and the supreme fragrant water infused with the fragrance of sandalwood and camphor, etc., which are substances for anointing the body, and the powder made from various fragrant incense, which can be scattered and burned, sandalwood and saffron, etc., made into bundles or not made into bundles, and hundreds of layers of various colored pigment powders mixed together, piled up like Mount Sumeru, and according to some Indian commentaries, stacked or unstacked pavilions, etc., and the arrangement of offerings of gods and humans, with all the particularly excellent supreme ones. In the Indian commentaries, the meaning of arrangement is explained as a synonym for assembly and multitude. In the Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path, it says: Arrangement is the combination of all the best things, that is, mostly and decorated and various meanings, the meaning is the same. The second is the unsurpassed offering: Which offerings, etc., four lines. In what place? I prostrate and offer to all the victors. What things to offer? With the great power Bodhisattvas such as Samantabhadra and Manjushri, by the power of meditative concentration, like the arrangement of the vessel and essence of the three thousand great thousand world realms, and like the perfect arrangement of the vessel and essence of the pure Buddha land, it is exquisite.

Such as beauty and pleasantness, through the gate of manifestation, with offerings that transcend the realm of ordinary beings, like offering to the Buddhas, all those supreme and vast offerings, how should they be practiced? Not only to one Buddha, but to all Buddhas, and wishing to practice like the conduct of Samantabhadra and others, it is through the gate of the power of faith. The third is confession: attachment, anger, etc., four lines. To whom is the confession made? To the Buddhas. What is confessed? From beginningless time until now, being controlled by the afflictions of attachment, anger, and ignorance, and being driven by these three poisons, killing, taking what is not given, engaging in impure conduct, etc., the actions done by the body, and lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter, etc., the actions done by speech, and similarly, covetousness, malice, and wrong views, etc., the sins accumulated by the mind, what I have done myself and caused others to do, all these, I confess individually with a mind of regret and vow to refrain from them. The fourth is rejoicing: Buddhas of the ten directions, etc., four lines. It is called rejoicing. To whom? To all the Buddhas of the ten directions and the Bodhisattvas, the sons of the Buddhas, and to the Pratyekabuddhas, and to the Shravaka learners who have not attained Arhatship, and to the non-learners, the Arhats, all their merits, and moreover, to whatever great or small accumulation of merit created by all other sentient beings, I rejoice in all of them and cultivate joy. The meaning of the word "sentient beings": In the commentary of Shakya Mitra, it says: The word "sentient beings," because it tends towards the entirety, can be included in the merits of learners, etc., why is it mentioned separately? It is not so, sentient beings are sentient beings, meaning they transmigrate in samsara together with existence. Thus it is said. The fifth is requesting to turn the wheel of Dharma: Those who are in the ten directions, etc., four lines. Requesting to turn the wheel of Dharma. To whom is the request made? To all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who abide, and the ten directions.
