Pa. There are five reasons: tilting the head, touching shoulders with others, and walking hand in hand with others. The third is established, as the scripture says, "There are nine things to do when sitting." That is, sitting on a mat without permission, praising without observation, sitting with weight, crossing and stretching both legs, crossing both thighs, crossing ankles, bending the feet under the mat or bed, supporting separately with buttocks and heels, and sitting with the lower body exposed, thus there are nine. The fourth is established, as the scripture says, "There are eight things to give and receive." That is, not taking food well, taking rice and vegetables together, not taking in order, taking without looking at the alms bowl, opening the alms bowl before food comes, hiding each other wanting extra food, placing the alms bowl on the food, and taking food higher than the alms bowl, thus there are eight. The fifth is established, as the scripture says, "There are six good deeds for food, five aspects such as 'tsug tsug', five differences in grains, and five such as licking hands." That is, food is not made well, a mouthful is too big, a mouthful is too small, not eating in moderation, opening the mouth before food comes, speaking with the mouth full of food, etc., these are six. Making 'tsug tsug' sounds from the mouth, as well as 'chag chag' sounds, as well as 'hu hu' sounds, as well as 'phu phu' sounds while eating, and sticking out the tongue to eat, these are five. Eating rice and other grains one by one, mocking food, passing around what has not been taken, making a creaking throat sound, biting off the remaining food and eating, these are five. Licking the food stuck on the hand, scraping the alms bowl with the tongue and fingers, shaking off the food stuck on the hand, shaking one's own alms bowl, making the food into the shape of a stupa and eating, these are five. The sixth is established, as the scripture says, "There are four aspects such as mocking, and there are also ten aspects for the alms bowl." That is, mocking other people's alms bowls, holding water vessels with the hand that divides food, splashing dirty water on others, discarding washing water anywhere, these are four. Discarding leftovers into the alms bowl, placing the alms bowl on the ground without a cushion, on the edge of a cliff, on a garbage heap, on a slope, etc., washing in those three places: on the edge of a cliff, on a garbage heap, on a slope, washing while standing, going against the direction of the rapid current, these are ten.

It is established that there are five postures such as standing, five postures such as covering the head, five postures such as wearing a hair knot, five postures such as riding an elephant, and six postures such as holding a stick in the hand, as mentioned in the scriptures. That is, five ways of teaching the Dharma: standing, lying down, sitting on a high place, walking forward, and walking from the side of the road to the middle of the road. Five ways of teaching the Dharma: covering the head with cloth, folding clothes, draping clothes over both shoulders, crossing both hands on the neck, and crossing them behind the back. Five ways of teaching the Dharma: making a hair knot, tying a turban with silk, wearing a hat, wrapping a headscarf, and wearing a garland of flowers. Five ways of teaching the Dharma: riding an elephant, riding a horse, riding other mounts, sitting in a palanquin, and wearing shoes. Six ways of teaching the Dharma: holding a staff, an umbrella, a weapon, a sword, an axe, and wearing armor. Therefore, the eighth is established. There are four ways of urinating. As it is said in the scriptures, for a person taller than a tree, climbing is a transgression. That is, standing to urinate, urinating in the water or spitting, spitting on the green grass, and climbing a tree more than one fathom high for no reason are all transgressions. In short, the main precepts that a monk should observe are two hundred and fifty-three. As mentioned earlier, the main things to be abandoned are the four root defeats, thirteen sanghavasesas, thirty nissaggiya pacittiyas, ninety pacittiyas, four patidesaniyas, and one hundred and twelve dukkatas. This is not all, if divided by category, there are many more. These are explained in detail in the sutras, but the sources are not cited here due to space limitations. Secondly, explaining in terms of general exposition. The prohibited items are also good and related to this. Similar ones too. And so on. What kind of method does this explain? Because it brings together some of the key points of meaning from the Vinaya-vibhanga, the Vinaya-vastu, and the Questions. There are many aspects to the meaning of these, such as learning, thinking, and words, but in order to summarize the meaning, they will be discussed together at this time, that is, in terms of the limb of mental transformation and the limb of supplementation.
