So! Completely possessed by human beings. There is consciousness there. And so on, explaining it, and there is also meaning. A fully ordained bhikshu, stealing another's possessed item of complete value, with no confusion in consciousness, continuously wanting to steal for one's own benefit, starting to steal through one's own actions or by instructing others, and finally giving rise to the thought of obtaining it, therefore, a transgression occurs. The owner of the item must be another person, and it must be possessed by that person. If one steals one's own item, one only commits a minor offense. If one steals a non-human's item, the same offense is incurred. If one steals an unowned item, such as the items of arhats and shravakas, one commits a major offense. Generally, there are four kinds of item owners: intention and action, the dharma of the place, lineage, and those owned by the Buddha's decree. The first exists, such as when a deceased person's belongings are designated to be offered to others. The second exists, such as when the items of a deceased person or those that need to be repaid belong to the recipient. The third exists, such as when a father's property belongs to his son. The fourth exists, items offered to the Buddha and the Dharma of Nirvana belong to the Buddha and the Dharma of Nirvana, and others cannot use them. Items offered to the scriptures and realization belong to the sangha that holds them. Items offered to the sangha belong to the sangha itself. The item being stolen must be of complete value; if it is not complete, one only commits a minor or small offense. The method of calculating value is that when the Blessed One established the precepts, he used one-fourth of a karshapana as the standard of value, but it is uncertain due to differences in time and place. The method of calculating based on the distance of the location is that if the location of the owner and the thief are the same distance, then calculate according to the thief's location. If they are not the same, then calculate according to the closer location. Distinguishing based on placed items and distributed items, if a single bhikshu steals the placed items of ten owners, then only one item of complete value is sufficient. If it is an item distributed among ten owners, then each owner must receive an item of complete value. The same should be applied when ten thieves steal placed items and distributed items. Therefore, the item being stolen.

If the owners are distributed items, then even if hundreds of taels of silver are stolen, there are cases where it will not lead to downfall. When stealing the distributed items of a thousand owners, it is necessary to obtain a complete value related to each owner. When a thousand owners distribute a hundred taels of silver, each person will receive one qian of silver. Therefore, generally speaking, merely stealing one qian of silver will not lead to downfall. When many thieves steal for the sake of distributed items, they must obtain a complete value related to each person. As stated in the "Three Hundred Verses": "When many people steal things, if each person's share is of sufficient value, it is lost. When many people steal, at that time, the value of one's own share is determined." Therefore, a continuous action is needed. If one steals the complete value and thinks, 'Now I won't steal anymore,' but then steals again in the same way, even if the value is complete, it will not lead to downfall. Here, regarding the measurement of value, many different views have arisen due to differences in location and time. Some believe that stealing four "bre" of barley, some believe it is half a tael of gold, some believe it is two gold sesame seeds, some believe it is half a tael of gold, and some believe it is three qian of silver that will lead to downfall, and so on, many different views have arisen. The self-school believes that stealing items worth four hundred "gonbu" will lead to downfall. Because each "mashaka" is worth eighty "gonbu", and five "mashaka" are equivalent to a quarter of a "karshapana". Therefore, generally speaking, a rough calculation is above three qian of silver, but there is no special regulation, because there is a distinction between rare and non-rare. If measured by the price of barley, in times without famine, it is about four "khal" of Tibetan barley, and in times of severe famine, half a "khal" of barley may be sufficient, because it depends on the time. If the limbs that cause downfall are incomplete, what will happen? It will lead to "smad" in the downfall called "Selva". This also exists, if one limb such as value is incomplete, it will also lead to this situation. Separately speaking, the situation is like this: above the downfall is the coarse "smad". The coarse downfall that leads to the "smad" of three confessions is a minor offense. The "smad" of a minor offense will become a tiny offense. In addition, there is "Sel
