Ninety single transgressions, four confessions, and one hundred and twelve misdeeds. The second point is established because there are eight Parajikas, twenty Sanghavasesas, thirty-three Nissaggiya Pacittiyas, one hundred and eighty Pacittiyas, eleven confessions, and one hundred and twelve misdeeds. The second is the summary, because there are summaries from the aspects of objects and intentions, summaries from the aspects of actions, summaries from the aspects of nature, and summaries from the aspects of categories. The first point is established because there are two types of transgressions, namely those that are primarily object-oriented and those that are primarily intention-oriented. The Parajikas and the first two Sanghavasesas are primarily object-oriented, while the others are primarily intention-oriented. Secondly, from the aspect of action, they are summarized into two types: Sanghavasesas that cannot restore the vows and transgressions that include Sanghavasesas. Common Parajikas, with concealment, etc., make Sanghavasesas unrecoverable, and are divided into two types: those that have been done and those that have not been done. Thirdly, from the aspect of nature, they are summarized into two types: natural transgressions and prohibited transgressions. Fourthly, from the aspect of category, they are also summarized into five types: Parajikas, Sanghavasesas, etc. It is unique, but unreasonable, because the gross transgressions are not included in them. If you say so, there is no fault, because the preparatory gross transgressions of Parajikas, etc., belong to the category of Parajikas, and the preparatory gross transgressions of Sanghavasesas, etc., are included in the category of Sanghavasesas. There is a way to include the two uncertain transgressions. The three uncertain transgressions are included by any of the three: Parajikas, Sanghavasesas, and Pacittiyas. The two uncertain transgressions are included by the two: Sanghavasesas and Pacittiyas. Regarding the difference between prohibited and natural transgressions, some say that if it is a natural transgression, it must be an unwholesome action; if it is a prohibited transgression, it must be an unspecified action. This is unreasonable, because prohibited transgressions have both unwholesome and unspecified aspects. For example, the transgression of a renunciate drinking alcohol with an intention of unwholesome action is the first type, and the transgression in the continuum of an Arhat is the second type. Some say that prohibited and natural transgressions are contradictory, which is also unreasonable, because the transgression of killing in the continuum of a Bhikshu, it

Because it is both. The reason is: What is the first? Because it is the latter. The reason for the first is: Because it is primarily a transgression that violates the precepts of the Bhagavan. The reason for the latter is: Because it is a transgression that has become the nature of non-virtue. Some say: If it is a fault of either the prescribed or the natural, then it must be a downfall, which is not reasonable. Because the natural fault in the continuum of a person who does not possess vows is not a downfall. Because that person does not possess vows. Some say: If it is a prescribed fault, then it must have a case of permission, which is not reasonable. Because the downfall of drinking alcohol is a fault of the prescribed, but there is no case of permission for renunciates. The first is established, as the Treasury says: "The prescribed fault is to protect against things other than intoxication." The latter is established, as the Sutra says: "Those who claim to be my teachers should not commit the downfall of even the tip of a blade of grass with alcohol." In our own system, there is a difference in the nature of these two: The fault that is established as becoming a sin for both the householder and the renunciate is the nature of the natural fault; the fault that primarily violates the precepts of the teacher and is established in terms of those who possess vows is the nature of the prescribed fault. However, these two are not different in nature, because the two are not contradictory. There is also a difference in cause, mainly in whether or not it is initiated by non-virtue. Some say: If it is a natural fault, then it must be a sin for all sentient beings, because the Differentiation of the Three Vows says: "The natural fault becomes a sin for all sentient beings." If you say that, it is not pervasive, because the natural fault in the continuum of a particular person, such as a monk, does not become a sin for all sentient beings. The reason is: Because there is no action and no encounter. Some say: If it is a fault in the continuum of a householder, then it is not necessarily only a natural fault, because it is mainly established on the basis of the householder. If you say that, it is not pervasive, because there is the cause of a layperson and the fault of the prescribed. The reason is:
