If permission is requested and granted, there is no fault. Second, having committed the five deeds of immediate retribution, etc., namely: drawing blood from the Tathagata with malicious intent; causing dissension in the Sangha; killing an Arhat; and the two deeds of immediate retribution of killing one's father and mother, making five in total. Drawing blood from the Tathagata with malicious intent means making an effort to kill the Tathagata, even though it is impossible to do so. Causing dissension in the Sangha, as stated in the Vinaya, is dividing the monks into groups of four, making eight groups in total. Otherwise, it becomes creating dissension between individuals. This is also in accordance with the Vinaya and Abhidharma, and is very clear. Doing it oneself, etc., is as before. The meaning of "immediate retribution" is: some say that after committing such a deed, the next life is not interrupted by another life, but one is born directly into the Avici hell. Others say that it refers to the suffering of the karmic result being so great that it cannot be endured. Third, the ten non-virtuous deeds, etc., namely: the three non-virtuous deeds of the body, such as killing; the four non-virtuous deeds of speech, such as lying; and the three non-virtuous deeds of the mind, such as covetousness, making ten in total. These sins, either one truly accepts and engages in them oneself, or causes others to engage in them, or rejoices in others engaging in them, these are all sins. Or it is selective, that is, all or any one of them. Having committed any of these sins, do not conceal it, but confess it in the presence of the objects of refuge. Confessing sins in this way with a repentant heart becomes a cause for the elimination of those sins. If, after committing a sin, one boasts about it to others with a shameless mind, that becomes a cause for the further increase of the sin, so one should distinguish between them. Third, how to confess sins, from "obscured by which karmic obscuration" to "do not conceal." That is to say, from those paths of sin mentioned above, due to being obscured by which karmic obscuration, I, this sentient being, after death will go to the three lower realms such as hell, or be born in a remote border region where the Dharma is not propagated, or become a barbarian, a fool, a mute, or

Those long-lived gods who have no opportunity to practice the Dharma, and those who, though human, are incomplete in their faculties, and those with wrong views who slander the results of karma, and those who are not pleased with the appearance of the Buddhas and are born as such, in short, all those karmic obscurations that cause one to be born in the eight states of unfreedom, all of these, in the presence of those Buddhas, that is, without concealing them, I confess by speaking with my mouth, I confess with a mind of regret, I do not hide, I do not conceal, although these two can be used as synonyms, there is no contradiction, the former is not concealing faults, and the latter is knowingly not concealing. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have become wisdom, etc., those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, generally directly see all knowable things, and especially the wisdom that sees all subtle and minute things, along with their white and black karmas and their fruits, as they are, and possess it, just as the eye clearly sees objects, they directly see them, therefore they have become eyes, they themselves know the good and bad of virtue and non-virtue as they are, and they are suitable as witnesses for others to ask, therefore they have become witnesses, they show the places of acceptance and rejection as they are, therefore they are infallible, they have become valid cognizers, I confess in the presence of those Buddhas who directly see the dharmas with their wisdom. Fourth, the power of turning back from faults is that I will cut off and restrain myself from now on, not only did I confess my sins with a mind of regret, but also from now on I will cut off the possibility of doing those things, and I will restrain myself with my mind. Second, there are three ways to dedicate merit: asking for witness, identifying the merit to be dedicated, and how to dedicate it. The first is, I pray that all those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will remember me. The second is, from "my present life" to "which one is it", above it says in all places of rebirth in samsara, and here it says in other places of rebirth, the difference is that sinful deeds have been done in all or many places of rebirth, however, it is possible that small virtuous deeds have been done in some places of rebirth.
