Therefore, there are four fruits of becoming such a person, one similar cause fruit, and one dominant fruit. Therefore, because there is the fruit of ownership. Therefore, it can be established. A Bodhisattva practitioner has two that are formed from the cause of conducive conditions that increase the realization of their own continuum, and two that arise from the cause of eliminating obstacles, making four in total; one that is formed from the immediate cause of the realization of their own continuum; and one that becomes a superior place by the fruit of ownership, making six in total. Secondly, the basis of the path of meditation and the dependent path of meditation are explained. First, there are two, because there are the physical basis and the mental basis. First, the physical basis is mostly similar to the path of seeing, but there are also differences. The path of meditation of the Hearers can arise on the basis of all three realms. The path of meditation of the Self-Realized arises only relying on the basis of the desire realm. The path of meditation of the Bodhisattvas can newly arise on the basis of the gods of the desire and form realms. It does not newly arise on the basis of the formless realm, because vast altruistic activities do not occur there. Secondly, there is the mental basis. The path of meditation of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas arises relying on the preliminary concentration of the first dhyana and any of the actual dhyanas. The path of meditation of the Bodhisattvas newly arises relying on the actual fourth dhyana. Although in the commentaries and explanations, there are statements such as Bodhisattvas being skilled in means and able to arise relying on the mind of the desire realm, this is similar to the way of acting and teaching. When the Mahayana path of meditation newly arises, it must be acknowledged that it arises relying on the uninterrupted path that directly realizes emptiness at the end of the Mahayana path of seeing. Because the uninterrupted path and the mind of the desire realm do not have a common basis, it needs to be examined. Secondly, explaining the dependent path of meditation, there are three: the essence, the divisions, and the explanation of the meaning of each. First, there is, the subsequent realization of the Mahayana, because it is established as the essence of the Mahayana path of meditation. Secondly, if it is divided, there are two, because there are the contaminated and uncontaminated paths of meditation that become such. Thirdly, in the explanation of the meaning of each, what is the reason for dividing the path of meditation into two, the contaminated and uncontaminated paths of meditation? There is, the physical body

Because the attainment of the Rupakaya and Dharmakaya are taken as the basis for practice, the two paths of meditation, contaminated and uncontaminated, are established in sequence. Although there are generally many differences in the meaning of contaminated and uncontaminated, there is a unique way of defining them here, namely, by distinguishing them through whether or not they possess the conceptual thought that clings to the mixture of sound and meaning. There are three contaminated meditation paths: the path of aspiration, the path of dedication, and the path of rejoicing. First, the path of aspiration is explained through "aspiration for one's own benefit," etc., which is divided into two parts: the actual explanation and the explanation of benefits. In the actual explanation, there are four aspects: the object of aspiration, the essence, the divisions, and the boundaries. First, in general, the meaning established by pure scripture and reasoning is the object of aspiration. Here, it mainly refers to the three Prajnaparamitas of scripture, path, and result, because it is said in the scripture, "For the Prajnaparamita, in all the stages of aspiration." Second, the essence of the path of aspiration is: the contaminated Mahayana meditation path that firmly believes in the source of any of the three, mother, self, and result, is its essence. Third, if it is divided, there are three types: the path of aspiration for one's own benefit, the path of aspiration for the benefit of others, and the path of aspiration for the benefit of both. The essence of each of these three is: through such firm belief, engaging in activities for one's own benefit; similarly, engaging in activities for the benefit of others; and engaging in activities for the benefit of both oneself and others. These three paths of aspiration, each with different functions, are established in sequence. These three are distinguished only by their different functions and are not contradictory, because although these three have major and minor aspects, in general, their scope is the same. Some people think that defining it as engaging in activities that primarily focus on one's own benefit is unreasonable, because noble Bodhisattvas do not primarily engage in activities for their own benefit. Fourth, some people think that the three, such as the path of aspiration, do not exist on the first ground, which is unreasonable, because as explained in the commentary, these three exist on the seven impure grounds, and it can also be established through reasoning. The reason is that the first ground needs to be completed over a long period of time, such as kalpas. Second, there are benefits, namely, a Bodhisattva who cultivates the path of aspiration can attain Buddhahood, etc.
