That should be known elsewhere. Furthermore, you who destroy the demons of affliction and are free from all fear of shrinking back in the assembly of learned ones such as hearers, self-awakened ones, and bodhisattvas. What need is there to say more? Since there is no one equal to you, you are unequaled. And since you are victorious over opposing forces, you are a hero. Since you are extremely skilled in teaching the Dharma, you are the supreme guide of the three realms, the underground, the surface, and above the surface. And since you always look with compassion upon sentient beings who have fallen into extreme misery, I prostrate to the feet of you, the guide. This is praise through the gateway of prostration. The unequaled refers to those other than the Buddhas. Misery is the state of having become suffering. The guide is the one who leads sentient beings well from the evil realms and samsara. Moreover, with the immeasurable limit of measurement, that is, with the power of wisdom that engages without obstruction in the knowable that is without limit, all the hosts of unruly demons are defeated, just as hail falling from above destroys and shatters young flowers. Thus, adorned with the glory of the ten powers, such as the power of knowing what is and is not the case, you, the loving protector, alone possess them. Here, it seems that it should be "hail falling," but it appears as before. The ten powers, in brief, are as stated in the Commentary Meaningful Illumination: "That is, knowing what is and is not the case, the ripening of karma, various inclinations, various realms, superior and inferior faculties, the path to all destinations, various realms, purification, recollection of past lives, death and birth, and the ten aspects of the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements." Such praise is directed only to the venerable Buddha, because sentient beings do not possess these ten powers. Furthermore, since no one, whether brahmin, demon, or Brahma, can refute the Dharma in accordance with the Dharma, in the assembly of wisdom, you crush the heads of opposing debaters like proud elephants, as mentioned before, and proclaim the great sound of the wheel of Dharma of the well-spoken in the midst of your own retinue.

Destroying the foxes of heretical and evil speech, you are the one who possesses the four fearlessnesses that can ultimately destroy or defeat them, like a lion among men. This is an example of using tangible rhetoric, comparing the opponent to an elephant, the venerable one to a lion, using the Dharma-wheel's lion's roar to scare away wild animals, and opponents like Dharma foxes. However, for the sake of easy understanding, the metaphor and the entity are explained separately. The four fearlessnesses, if summarized, are like this: Because no one can refute your claim of omniscience, you are fearless in asserting that you possess perfect realization; in asserting that you can be liberated from desire and attain omniscience, the obstructing Dharma that hinders these; in asserting that you can be liberated and become omniscient through the path of realizing selflessness, the Dharma of liberation that determines to emerge from it; and in asserting that I have abandoned afflictions and possess perfect abandonment, you are fearless. As the commentary says, "I am the Buddha," this is self-proclamation; from "self-proclamation of having exhausted all outflows" to "because there is no refuter, it possesses the four forms of fearlessness." Furthermore, to those who are arrogant and self-satisfied with pride in power and strength, the conceited father of the world, Brahma, and the lord of arrows, as well as the shramanas and brahmins existing in the world, the supreme Dharma-wheel that no one else can truly proclaim, by turning it excellently, with love pervading all beings, I prostrate to you, the protector. Some scholars say that the arrow refers to the name of the arrow, and because it has five flower arrows, the lord of arrows refers to the desire deity, Ishvara. However, in the "Vocabulary Explanation," the arrow refers to the Asura's daughter, Arrow, and her husband or master is the non-regressing son of the desire deity. The protector of love is explained like the sound of the sixth case appearing in the middle, otherwise it becomes the meaning of the loving protector. This praise is of the four fearlessnesses mentioned earlier.
