“Without holding arrows, weapons, armor,” and so forth, are four lines. It means without holding arrows and other weapons, and armor and other protective gear, and without relying on other friendly troops, you alone, with the power of loving-kindness, defeated all the armies of demons, represented by millions. You know such a feat. Who among sentient beings other than you could know such a thing? Defeating the demons in this way is as described in the Extensive Play Sutra and others. However, the Ushnishavijaya Dharani also states that soon after the Buddha attained enlightenment, the armies of demons and their retinues came as before and were also defeated by the Buddha. The retinues of demons are mostly characterized as demons, but because the demon praises the greatness of the Buddha, that king of demons, relying on the sutra of the "Heroic Progress" samadhi, is considered to be an emanation of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and is certainly not a real demon. Moreover, the Ushnishavijaya Dharani also seems to imply that it is actually an emanation, which is a unique view. Fifthly, “Thus, your fire of loving-kindness,” and so forth, are four lines. It means that, as just said, you, the Teacher, with the fire of the power of the samadhi of loving-kindness, defeated the Lord of Desire, the master of Paranirmitavasavartin, along with his retinue, so that the hearts, that is, the minds, of the gods of desire and their retinues were greatly afflicted and displeased. However, you, who are a treasure of great loving-kindness and great compassion, do not hate the demons of the other side, nor are you attached to your own retinue, and you do not have any partiality of attachment and aversion. It is not just one army of demons; the sutras say that there are armies of demons in other three-thousandfold worlds and other Buddha-fields, and it is also said that there are no demons or kinds of demons in the pure land of Amitayus. It is said that there is a king there called "Demon-Worshipping King," which is difficult to measure. The Teacher's defeat of the four demons means that he defeated the ability of the four demons to harm himself, not that he universally eliminated demons. Even after the Teacher attained enlightenment, the four demons still exist in the world. If there were no demons, then all non-human beings would disappear; the details are like this.

It is necessary. The sixth is: You are for the sake of beings. These are four lines. Because the teacher, you, possess great compassion, you are not tired even for a short time for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings. Therefore, beings are also not tired of speaking of and praising the qualities of the teacher, and praying, that is, it is reasonable to constantly praise and pray to the teacher with great diligence. This is encouragement. Here, some scholars say that fatigue is incorrect, and it should be said to be indolence. Changkya Master explains it as the meaning of not being tired. Now some people say that the former is not tired, and the latter is not indolent, and distinguish them. In my opinion, these two seem to be the same, because benefiting sentient beings without weariness and praising the qualities of the teacher, and benefiting sentient beings without indolence and praising the qualities of the teacher, the two points are the same. The second has three parts: actually speaking of the qualities of the three bodies and mind, the activities of the three are spontaneously accomplished, and it is shown that after fully understanding the differences of the qualities, it is impossible to speak of them. The first is: A mind that is as deep as the ocean. These are four lines. For example, the depth of the great ocean, the extent of its depth and breadth, is immeasurable by ordinary people. The qualities of the mind, which are encompassed by the wisdom and compassion that are as deep and broad as the ocean, and the drum of the gods in the thirty-three heavens, which turns the gods away from their unrestrained behavior and encourages them to practice non-restraint, does not need to be encouraged by others, but naturally manifests the self-sound of the four seals of the Dharma from time to time. The qualities of speech that skillfully teach the sacred Dharma that is appropriate to the faculties of each of the beings to be tamed without effort, just as the peak of Mount Sumeru is towering and surpasses other mountains. Among the countless retinues like golden mountains, the body of the teacher, you, is tall and bright, and clearly surpasses them. Thus, whichever being to be tamed sees or hears this body,
