For example, at night, the moonlight shines, causing the water-born lotus, the newly sprouted tender lotus, to close. Similarly, I fold the fingers of my hands together at my chest, that is, joining palms. Without distraction, with a focused mind, I believe in and face the form that appears in the sky before you, teacher, and take a little from your ocean-like vast merits to praise. The second is: Compassionate One, please listen. This means that for this way of slightly praising, I request the teacher, the Compassionate One, to listen. Third, there are two ways to truly praise: one is other merits, and the other is to praise from the aspects of body, speech, and mind. The first aspect has six points: surpassing the sons of the Buddhas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, etc.; the manner of conduct; the merit of seeing; the merit of ability; the merit of being without attachment and aversion; and the way of constantly benefiting sentient beings. The first point is: Like the moon in the sky with a multitude of stars. And so on, four lines. For example, just as the full moon in the sky is completely surrounded by a multitude of stars, you, teacher, are completely surrounded by the sons of the Victorious Ones, the brave Maitreya, Manjushri, etc., who possess unobstructed wisdom to destroy unfavorable forces. And just as when a herd of cows walks, the lead bull leads the way, Shariputra and the other eight great Shravakas and other Arhats lead in front, that is, surround and do the work. The lead bull is a kind of buffalo or bull, because the mount of the Great Lord, the lead bull, is considered to be a bull. "ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་" appears as an ergative case, but if the sixth case word "ཀྱི་" is added, it becomes the teacher walking in front of the Shravaka Sangha, the latter being related to the metaphor. The second point is: With rays of light filling the expanse of the sky. And so on, four lines. When you, teacher, walk, with a body surrounded by thousands, that is, countless, of nets of light that fill the expanse of the sky, that is, are full, you display the miracles of transformation from the path of the sky.

Showing the upper part of the body ablaze with fire and the lower part churning with water, and the reverse of this; also disappearing from the east and appearing in the west, and disappearing from the west and appearing in the east, and so forth, displaying various manifestations of appearing and disappearing in the ten directions, and showing the transformation of one into many and many into one, and so on, through various common and uncommon miracles. For example, just as the king of geese flies in the sky, the Teacher and his retinue also soared and departed into the sky. This seems to mainly combine the miracles shown when the Teacher met his father after attaining Buddhahood and when Magadha Samantabhadra invited him. Third, 'At that time, the good deeds accumulated for a long time,' etc., is one verse. When departing in this way, the fruit of the good deeds accumulated for a long time was fully awakened, that is, ripened, and represented by thousands of gods and humans, a great multitude. The moment they saw the face of the Teacher, their unruly minds, the strong fetters bound by countless faults, were all loosened, and they abandoned their evil deeds accordingly. Some grasped the path, others saw the truth and became Arhats. The fourth part has two points, the first of which is: 'Hero, you at the foot of the Bodhi tree,' etc., are four lines. Hero, you who can destroy all opposing forces, when you sat at the foot of the Bodhi tree, the place where you previously practiced austerities, inspired by your own rays, the armies of Mara came to create obstacles. Then, with the power of your wisdom, compassion, and ability, you subdued the lord of disturbing minds, the Mara Joyful and Mighty, and his retinue of troops, who had various different forms and emitted various different loud sounds, transforming the arrows, spears, mountain peaks, and other weapons they hurled into flowers, and so forth, thereby subduing all the armies of Mara. For example, just as a violent wind scatters nearby dark clouds, they were defeated. The second point is:
