It exists in giving Dharma without expecting anything in return, purifying all Buddha lands, not being discouraged even when harmed by samsaric beings, and having shame and embarrassment about sins. In order to completely purify these through wisdom that is free from arrogance, the fourth is the explanation: from "living in the forest, having few desires and being content" to "not being discouraged and having no bias." Knowable things, the complete purification of the fourth ground has ten aspects: it exists in places that are remote from the thoughts of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, having few desires, knowing the Dharma, relying on the vows of having correctly taken the twelve qualities of practice, not abandoning the promised training, condemning and abandoning attachment to desirable qualities, placing others in cessation, giving up all possessions, having unwavering joy in the hardships of Dharma practice, and not having attachment to the view of true existence. The fifth is the explanation: from "attachment to friends and family" to "the fifth ground is completely attained." The meaning of the words is: Knowable things, the fifth ground has ten complete purifications: abandoning closeness to family for the sake of gain and respect, not showing these to others because of attachment to family, abandoning places of commotion, abandoning the two actions of praising oneself and belittling others for the sake of gain and respect, abandoning the ten paths of unwholesome actions, abandoning being filled with arrogant pride, abandoning taking and abandoning good and evil in a reversed manner, abandoning bad thoughts and destructive views, and abandoning tolerating and accepting the side of afflictions. As previously explained, these ten are objects to be purified, because the ten opposing factors have been practiced and abandoned, therefore the fifth ground can be completely attained. The sixth is the explanation: from "generosity, discipline, patience, diligence" to "the sixth ground is completely attained." The meaning of the words is: Knowable things, the sixth ground has ten complete purifications: practicing by combining the six perfections such as generosity and the objects to be abandoned, that is, the practice of generosity.

By abandoning the desire for the enlightenment of the Hearer disciples, with the discipline of abandoning the mind of self-interest, abandoning the delight in the enlightenment of the Pratyekabuddha with the discipline of abandoning the mind of self-interest, with the patience of not fearing emptiness, abandoning the mind that fears the profound meaning, with the diligence of delighting in generosity, not shrinking from the mind aroused by the beggars, with the samadhi of focusing the mind on generosity, even if giving away all inner and outer possessions, there is no displeasure, with the wisdom of realizing the qualities of generosity, being completely perfect, even if one is poor due to giving, not abandoning the beggars, thus training, one will truly attain the sixth ground. Thus, in total, there are six, but if divided, there are twelve, because they are divided separately from the perspective of what is to be abandoned and what abandons. In the explanation of the seventh ground, from "clinging to self and sentient beings" to "emptiness and twenty" is explained. This is divided into two aspects: what is to be abandoned and the antidote. The first aspect is: knowable phenomena, in terms of the purification of the seventh ground, there are twenty established by the way of abandoning what is to be abandoned, because there are twenty as will be explained. The reason is that the Bodhisattva who can abandon clinging to the self of a person, clinging to sentient beings, as well as clinging to life, the independent person, the annihilation of sentient beings, the permanent self, the characteristics of what to take and abandon, the three different causes, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, as well as clinging to the three realms as places of dwelling and what should be abandoned, the mind is not timid, each of the three jewels, the clinging to the truth of the precepts, the inverted debate on emptiness, and the fault of thinking that ultimate emptiness and conventional are contradictory, these twenty, that Bodhisattva will attain the seventh ground. The second aspect is that there are twenty purifications of the antidote, that is, if the twenty things to be abandoned mentioned earlier are applied in sequence as antidotes, then by knowing the three doors of liberation, emptiness, etc., one can abandon clinging to self, sentient beings, and life, etc., and with the purity of not truly clinging to the three wheels of the ten virtues, one can abandon the independent sentient beings.
