Those supreme instructions, practiced by many fortunate individuals, namely the stages of the path for the three types of individuals—small, medium, and great—who would not be deeply attracted to them? No one. Second, the essence of all scriptures, etc., are fourfold. This type of text, which gathers the essence of all scriptures of the Great and Small Vehicles, even if taught or listened to only once, will certainly gather the great benefits of extensively studying the scriptures to teaching and hearing the Dharma. Therefore, one should contemplate its meaning. This is the instruction through gathering the meaning. Gathering means condensing the essence of all scriptures, and it also means explaining it in a concise and essential manner. Second, explaining the meaning of the text, offerings and praises, etc., are branches of the text. Here, focusing on the actual meaning of the text, the explanation is divided into two parts: the common aspects and the method of training in the uncommon path. The first part is divided into two: preliminaries and the main practice. First, from "hereafter, the accumulation of goodness," etc., are eight points. First, contemplate the great benefits of practicing the complete stages of the path, or even just a part of it, and then practice in this way. This is the connection. Seeing such benefits, the root of the good fortune in this and future lives, which allows the auspicious circumstances to gather well, lies in recognizing one's own teacher as a supreme spiritual friend. With intense effort, prevent thoughts of fault-finding towards the guru, generate as much faith as possible, rely on the guru through contemplation, accomplish all means of pleasing the guru, never do anything that displeases the guru, show respect with the body, praise with the speech, and follow the instructions. Thus, rely on the guru properly, seeing that it depends on reliance, not abandoning the guru even for the sake of life, not just for minor reasons, and pleasing the guru with offerings that follow the instructions. Finally, in the scattered writings of Je Tsongkhapa, it says: "The yogi, even I, have practiced in this way. You who desire liberation should also practice in this way." This is from Je

This is the actual teaching. In the 'Practice of Dharma,' it says: The venerable Lama practiced in this way. Those who desire liberation should also practice in the same way. This verse was translated by others later, and its meaning is easy to understand and can be applied to other situations as well. The qualities of a Lama and how to rely on one should be understood from the Lamrim and other sources. Secondly, there are two parts: Encouraging to take the essence from leisure and endowment, and how to take the essence. The first is: This leisure support is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, etc. Because one has the leisure to practice Dharma through possessing the eight freedoms and ten endowments, this special leisure support is more precious than a wish-fulfilling jewel. Such a support has not been obtained repeatedly in the past, but only now at this time. Therefore, obtaining it is not only meaningful but also shows that it is difficult to obtain. The way it is more excellent than a wish-fulfilling jewel is that although needs and desires arise from a jewel, they are only temporary benefits of this life. However, by relying on this support, not only can one achieve higher realms, but one can also attain definite goodness, liberation, and omniscience. Therefore, it is more excellent. Thus, this leisure and endowment, which is difficult to obtain and has great meaning once obtained, should not be wasted meaninglessly. One should make a firm commitment to practice Dharma to the best of one's ability. Secondly, how to take the essence has two parts: how the scriptures are categorized from the perspective of the path, and the actual way of practicing. The first is: All the aggregates of Dharma spoken by the Buddha, the Bhagavan, are for the benefit of sentient beings. Among them, those that start with higher realms and are mainly taught are categorized as the path of the lesser being or the Dharma classes common to them. Regarding definite goodness, there are two parts: those that start with liberation and are mainly taught are categorized as the path of the intermediate being or the Dharma classes common to them. All those that are taught starting from the attainment of omniscience are categorized as the Dharma classes of the great being. Here, some paths common to the lesser and intermediate beings are needed as part of the path of the great being, so they are guided there. However, they are not guided to the actual path of the lesser and intermediate beings, because the mind that seeks only higher realms is the actual path of the lesser being, and for one's own
