One should strive to practice the power of conduct. Second, training the mind in the common path of the intermediate being: As stated in the "Lamp for the Path," "Turning one's back on the happiness of existence, Having the nature of turning away from sinful deeds, Whoever seeks only their own peace, That person is called an intermediate being." Thus, one should practice. As mentioned above, even if one is liberated from the lower realms through practice, that alone is not enough. One must attain liberation from the bonds of karma and afflictions, that is, liberation from the place of samsara. Therefore, there are two aspects here: generating the mind of seeking liberation, and explaining the nature of the path to that liberation. First, there are two: contemplating from the perspective of suffering and its origin, and contemplating from the perspective of the twelve links of dependent origination. First, there are two: contemplating the faults of suffering in samsara, and the order of arising in samsara. First, there are three: since the suffering of the lower realms has already been contemplated, there are humans and other higher realms, and contemplating the common suffering of the six realms. The first is: taking birth due to the power of karma and afflictions, this becomes a place of various sufferings such as birth, aging, sickness, and death. Among these, concerning the suffering of birth for those born from a womb: from the time of conception in the mother's womb until birth, due to the mother consuming food that is too hot or too cold, one experiences the suffering of heat and cold, and while the mother jumps and runs, one experiences various sufferings. In this way, more than three hundred and fifty days pass. Due to the wind of karma, the head turns downward, and at the time of birth, one is squeezed by the opening of the womb. After being born and placed on a mat, or when others pick one up, one experiences various sufferings of heat and roughness. Contemplating the suffering of aging: the radiance and strength of youth diminish, the body weakens, hair turns white, teeth fall out, walking becomes difficult, eyesight becomes unclear, and so on, these are the sufferings that lead to death. The suffering of sickness: feeling pain, the body and mind are tormented, one cannot consume food and drink, and so on. The suffering of death: being abandoned by doctors and others, radiance fades, the mouth becomes dry, the lips curl, the nose collapses, the face turns pale, relatives and friends surround one, wailing and lamenting.

The suffering of having to leave all the perfect enjoyments and even this body on the bed, and having to die unwillingly. Encountering the unpleasant is: suffering from encountering enemies or being frightened by bad news, etc. Separation from the pleasant is: suffering from separation from cherished and beloved relatives, etc. Not finding what one desires is: the suffering that arises even when one's own wishes are fulfilled but not successful, think about these from the bottom of your heart. Secondly, regarding the suffering of the other two good destinies: the Asuras, due to unbearable jealousy of the wealth of the gods, are accompanied by the suffering of fighting and quarreling. When the desire gods among the gods are near death, they realize that the five signs of death, such as the fading of the body's radiance, and the five near-death signs, such as the diminishing of the body's light, have appeared, and thus they suffer, etc. The gods of the higher realms, although without gross suffering, are also accompanied by the suffering of bad destinies, where they do not have the freedom to stay, die, and transmigrate. Thirdly, the common suffering of the six realms is: even if one is completely liberated from samsara and becomes Brahma, one will eventually become a slave again, which is like the suffering of accomplishment. Birth, old age, sickness, and death are the suffering of completion. Just as the pain of a festering, hot wound intensifies, this is the suffering of suffering. After walking a long way, it seems comfortable to rest, but resting too much will make you sick again, which is like the suffering of change. Like being trapped in an ice cave, unable to move until you get out of it, this is the suffering of conditioning. In short, once you take these five aggregates of grasping, there is no other way than to bring about present and future suffering. The so-called five aggregates of grasping are named from the perspective of both cause and effect. Among them, grasping refers to desire and attachment. Because of the desire to obtain future aggregates, and the desire and attachment to the present aggregates, the future aggregates will be formed, which is from the perspective of cause. Moreover, relying on the present aggregates also leads to the desire and attachment to obtain aggregates, which is from the perspective of effect. In this way, think about the state of one arising from another, thus the state of wandering in samsara. Furthermore, in samsara, fathers become sons and sons become fathers, the powerful become weak and the weak also.
