To become great. Because there is no certainty as enemies and friends will transform into each other, one should meditate until the experience of being weary of samsara arises. Secondly, the origin, the way to enter samsara is: Having understood the suffering of samsara in this way, if one does not want it, one must identify its cause and abandon it, so what is the cause? There are karma and afflictions, but afflictions are the main ones. It is established on top of a consciousness that does not pacify the mind stream, and although there are many categories, if one considers the main ones, they can be summarized into five views and five non-views, so identify them on your own mind stream. Attachment is: the affliction of wanting to enjoy sights, touches, etc., with a longing mind, because one becomes attached to the object in which attachment arises. Anger is: the affliction that arises intensely, like a coal fire of hatred ignited by the wind, with a rough, tormenting mind aimed at an enemy-like object. Pride is: the affliction of arrogance that holds oneself as superior, thinking that this person is not even worth a hair on my head, relying on lineage, wealth, qualities, enjoyments, etc., due to the influence of the view of the aggregates. Ignorance is: the affliction that obscures and makes unclear the workings of karma and the true nature of Dharma. Doubtful affliction is: the affliction of doubting whether the Three Jewels and karma exist or not, whether they are true or not, and thus hesitating about the meaning. View of the transitory aggregates is: the wisdom affliction that grasps at the self as independent, saying "I" and "mine" on top of the aggregates of appropriation. Extreme view is: the wisdom affliction of viewing the self grasped by the view of the aggregates as permanent and unchanging, or thinking that there is no connection from this life to the next. Holding views as supreme is: the wisdom affliction of grasping as supreme, aiming at any of the three wrong views, such as the view of the aggregates, and the aggregates that arise from them. The view of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme is: the wisdom affliction of wanting liberation, aiming at the moral discipline of abandoning immoral behavior in one's own mind, and the asceticism of certain rituals, attire, and physical and verbal actions, and the aggregates that arise from them. Wrong view is: the wisdom affliction of thinking that there is no karma, etc., or thinking that the external world and its inhabitants were created by Ishvara, etc.

Having recognized these, when they arise in one's own mindstream, do not accept them, but abandon them. This is because these afflictions accumulate karma, and due to the power of karma, they will cause rebirth in samsara and the lower realms. The karma produced by afflictions has two types: volitional karma and karma resulting from volition. The first is: the mental factor that corresponds to one's own mind, which shakes and propels the object. The second is: karma resulting from volition is the volition that occurs simultaneously with the physical and verbal actions caused by that volition. Ordinary beings are the accumulators of projecting karma. These karmas have three types: meritorious karma, non-meritorious karma, and unwavering karma. The first is: virtuous actions such as giving in the desire realm. The second is: non-virtuous actions such as killing. The third is: the karma of meditating on calm abiding, etc., which is included in the upper realms. The way of ripening is: as stated in the Abhidharma, "Karma in samsara, has weight and lightness, nearness and habituation, whichever was done first, the earlier one matures first." It arises in this way. The way of dying and connecting due to karma is: when dying due to any cause, at the moment when the outer breath ceases, three types of minds, virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, arise accordingly. It is very important not to generate a negative mind at this time. Between the cessation of the outer breath and the non-cessation of the inner breath, the dying mind becomes subtle, so only a neutral mind arises. Generally, those who do good deeds see small cuttings and pleasant forms like dreams. Those who do evil deeds experience the opposite, but there are exceptions. When consciousness migrates from the heart center, like the high and low of a scale, the intermediate state is formed, and the intermediate state with the form of where one will be born is formed. There, it stays for up to forty-nine days, in periods of seven days. When the place of birth is seen as illusory, thoughts of connection arise due to the power of attachment and aversion. If experience arises from thinking through the two truths of suffering and origin, it is not necessary to think through the way of dependent origination. But because it is easy for some to appear, it is briefly explained in this way. Although ignorance is ignorant of the results of karma, it is mainly the ignorance that is ignorant of the first limb itself.
