Furthermore, the Vajra family is indicated by four lines such as "The Vajra family is supremely great." To symbolize the true meaning of the Vajra, which is the non-dual wisdom of all Buddhas, holding a Vajra that possesses the proper measurements is the Vajra vow; the emptiness of all phenomena, which is without inherent existence, and the wisdom of the yogi's own mind, which is non-dual, is the true meaning of the bell; to remember it, holding a bell that possesses the proper measurements is the bell vow; visualizing one's own deity as the great mudra, and the bliss and emptiness that arise from being equally engaged with any two mudras, is the mudra vow; regarding the guru who teaches the mantra dharma to oneself as a supreme field of merit to be revered, is the guru's vow, and one should learn as before. Third, the taking of vows of the Ratnasambhava family is indicated by four lines such as "The Ratna family is supreme." Giving material things, and actually giving one's own roots of virtue to others is the giving of dharma, meditating on immeasurable love is the giving of love, meditating on immeasurable equanimity is the giving of fearlessness and refuge, and one should learn about these as before. Fourth, the taking of vows of the Amitabha family is indicated by four lines such as "Arising from great Bodhi." Both outer conduct, both secret yoga and highest yoga, and all other sacred dharmas of the Paramita Vehicle, one wishes to learn, and one should practice as before. Fifth, the taking of vows of the Amoghasiddhi family is indicated by outer offerings such as flowers, inner offerings offered after being blessed, are the inner offerings, making the deities of the mandala satisfied with the bliss combined with mudras, is the secret offering, realizing emptiness with that bliss, is the offering of suchness, and one should learn as before. The first of the three in the third part is to summarize the meaning of generating the mind of enlightenment, and says the two lines such as "The mind of enlightenment is unsurpassed." The second is to summarize the meaning of taking vows, and says the two lines such as "For the sake of all sentient beings." The third is the conclusion, etc. For those who have not been liberated from the bonds of afflictions, such as Brahma, etc., I shall liberate them; for those who have not been liberated from the obscurations of knowledge, such as Hearers and Solitary Realizers, etc., I shall liberate them; for those in the lower realms who have not taken a breath, I shall cause them to breathe from suffering.

Thus, they are placed in the non-abiding Nirvana. At this time, holding the vows is to stabilize what has already been obtained and is a part of offering. However, the vows are not newly generated from nothing, nor are they the restoration of what has been lost, because that needs to be associated with empowerment. If the meaning of holding the vows of the five families is summarized, it becomes like this: First, take refuge in the Three Jewels, and then meditate on the form of the deity you are practicing. Manifest as the self-generated deity, make offerings to the guru, become proficient in all Sutras and Tantras, turn away from the misdeeds of body, speech, and mind, perform all virtuous deeds, and you must benefit sentient beings through the four kinds of giving, that is its meaning. The number of Samaya vows are: six for Vairochana, four for Akshobhya, four for Ratnasambhava, three for Amitabha, and one or two for Amoghasiddhi. Because it should not be transgressed, it is a Samaya; because it protects from misdeeds, it is a vow. Although not contradictory, the recitations and dedications in six sessions mentioned here are mainly based on Samaya. However, the meaning of "possessing all vows" refers to the above-mentioned Samayas, and it is different from the Samaya of offering. Finally, there are many ways to contemplate the assembly field as being empty in nature, dissolving into oneself, returning to their respective places, etc. Here, it is to contemplate the previously invited ones returning to their respective places. The necessity of offering to the assembly field is: in order to complete the favorable conditions for the actual practice of meditation. Third, in order to prevent obstacles, the way to meditate on the protection wheel is: from the prayer, "Glorious Wrathful Vajra, the ten wrathful ones," etc., which is shown by four lines. This has three parts: the way to meditate on the ten-spoked protection wheel, and the way to set up the stake, meditate on the tent, etc. The first is: Although the root tantra and the noble father and sons did not explicitly explain that here, from emptiness, the deity to be explained as the protection wheel is meditated upon, the subsequent Tantra of the Compendium says: "The wheel that is entirely yellow." Therefore, it should be meditated upon according to the explanation of Abhaya, the way of which is: through reciting the Svabhava mantra (Tibetan: སྭཱ་བྷཱ་ཝ, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभाव, Sanskrit Romanization: svabhāva, meaning: self-nature) and remembering its meaning, the essence, cause, and effect of all phenomena become one's own...
