Having said this, the giants replied, "Let it be done as such." Then, having said the same to the giants from Sinful Giant to Summer Maker, they replied, "Let it be done as such." Then, dividing the relics into eight parts, they gave them to the giants from Grassy Giant to Summer Maker. Those giants, each in their own land, built stupas and made offerings and great festivals. The share of Sound Proclaimer was snatched away by the nagas, and the nagas made offerings. The vase containing the relics was given to Brevo and Nyama, and they built a stupa in the city of Brevo and Nyama. The ashes of the relics were given to Nyagrodha-born. That brahmin boy built a stupa in the land of Nyagrodha, and made offerings and great festivals. At that time, there were ten stupas, and four and fourteen teeth. Of the eight measures of relics of the Seeing One, Seven were obtained for offering by the people of Jambudvipa. That one measure of that supreme being, Was offered by the Naga King of the city of Sound Proclaimer. Of the four teeth of that supreme being, One tooth is offered to the three realms. The second is in the delightful city of Word Holder, The third is in the land of the Kalinga King, The fourth tooth of that supreme being, Was offered by the Naga King of the city of Sound Proclaimer. King Ashoka, residing in Kyanarbur, Greatly expanded the seven stupas. Through his power, even in this earth, It is manifestly adorned with objects of aspiration. Thus, to the relics of the Seeing One, The lord of gods, the lord of nagas, and the lord of men, And by men, nagas, and lords of yakshas, Were greatly revered and offered homage and worship. All-knowing, endowed with compassion, possessing power, Shakyamuni was born and attained enlightenment in Magadha, Having turned the wheel of Dharma in Kashi, He passed into nirvana relying on the city of Grassy. Thus it was said. Regarding the meaning of nirvana, the Shravakas believe that, like a fire with exhausted fuel, all matter and consciousness are completely cut off, and thus nirvana is attained. Some Mahayanists believe that although the Sambhogakaya passes into nirvana, the retinue does not know that he has passed away. For example, although Indra dies and is reborn, the gods of the retinue do not know. They say this, but it is unreasonable.
