There is certain, there is uncertain. There is with a superior, there is without a superior. There is with a refuge, there is without a refuge. The aggregate of feeling is of three kinds: There is wholesome, there is unwholesome, there is indeterminate… and so on…. Thus the aggregate of feeling is of ten kinds. 37. The aggregate of feeling is of one kind: associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling is of two kinds: There is with a refuge, there is without a refuge. The aggregate of feeling is of three kinds: There is result, there is having the nature of a result, there is neither result nor having the nature of a result. There is clung to and clung to… and so on… There is internal object, there is external object, there is internal and external object… and so on…. Thus the aggregate of feeling is of ten kinds. The Dyad Root. 38. The aggregate of feeling is of one kind: associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling is of two kinds: There is with a cause, there is without a cause. The aggregate of feeling is of three kinds: There is wholesome, there is unwholesome, there is indeterminate… and so on…. Thus the aggregate of feeling is of ten kinds. 39 The aggregate of feeling in one way is associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways is associated with a root, is dissociated from a root. The aggregate of feeling in three ways is wholesome, is unwholesome, is indeterminate. ...and so on... Thus, the aggregate of feeling in ten ways. 40. The aggregate of feeling in one way is associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways is not a root, but is rooted, is not a root, and is rootless. is mundane, is supramundane. is knowable by some, is not knowable by some. is with defilements, is without defilements. is associated with defilements, is dissociated from defilements. is dissociated from defilements, yet defiled, is dissociated from defilements, and undefiled. ...and so on... is with refuge, is without refuge. The aggregate of feeling in three ways is wholesome, is unwholesome, is indeterminate. ...and so on... Thus, the aggregate of feeling in ten ways. 41. The aggregate of feeling in one way is associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways is rooted, is rootless. The aggregate of feeling in three ways is resultant, is a state leading to results, is neither resultant nor a state leading to results. is clung to and clingable, is not clung to, but clingable, is not clung to and not clingable. is defiled and defiling, is undefiled, but defiling, is undefiled and not defiling. is with initial application and sustained application, is without initial application, but with sustained application only, is without initial application and without sustained application. is to be abandoned by insight, is to be abandoned by development, is to be abandoned neither by insight nor by development. has roots to be abandoned by insight, has roots to be abandoned by development, has roots to be abandoned neither by insight nor by development. leads to accumulation, leads to diminution, leads neither to accumulation nor to diminution. is of a trainee, is of one beyond training, is neither of a trainee nor of one beyond training. is limited, is exalted, is immeasurable. has a limited object, has an exalted object There is minute, there is immeasurable object. There is inferior, there is middling, there is superior. There is fixed in wrongness, there is fixed in rightness, there is unfixed. There is path-object, there is path-cause, there is path-dominant. There is arisen, there is unarisen, there is arising. There is past, there is future, there is present. There is past-object, there is future-object, there is present-object. There is internal, there is external, there is internal-and-external. There is internal-object, there is external-object, there is internal-and-external-object... Thus, the feeling aggregate is of ten kinds. 42. The feeling aggregate is of one kind – associated with contact. The feeling aggregate is of two kinds – there is associated with cause, there is dissociated from cause. There is not root-conditioned by a root, there is not rootless by a root. There is worldly, there is supramundane. There is knowable by some, there is not knowable by some. There is with defilements, there is without defilements. There is associated with defilements, there is dissociated from defilements. There is dissociated from defilements, yet worldly, there is dissociated from defilements, and supramundane. There is fettering, there is unfettering... there is with refuge, there is without refuge. The feeling aggregate is of three kinds – there is internal-object, there is external-object, there is internal-and-external-object... Thus, the feeling aggregate is of ten kinds. The Triad Root. 43. The feeling aggregate is of one kind – associated with contact. The feeling aggregate is of two kinds – there is root-conditioned, there is rootless. The feeling aggregate is of three kinds – there is wholesome, there is unwholesome, there is indeterminate... Thus, the feeling aggregate is of ten kinds. 44. The feeling aggregate is of one kind – associated with contact. The feeling aggregate is of two kinds – there is associated with cause, there is dissociated from cause. The feeling aggregate is of three kinds – there is resultant, there is a state leading to resultants, there is neither resultant nor a state leading to resultants... Thus, the feeling aggregate is of ten kinds. The aggregate of feeling. 45. The aggregate of feeling in one way – associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways – there is that which is not a root, with roots; there is that which is not a root, without roots. The aggregate of feeling in three ways – there is that which is grasped and graspable; there is that which is not grasped but graspable; there is that which is not grasped and not graspable... and so on... Thus, the aggregate of feeling in ten ways. 46. The aggregate of feeling in one way – associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways – there is that which is mundane; there is that which is supramundane. The aggregate of feeling in three ways – there is that which is defiled and defiling; there is that which is undefiled but defiling; there is that which is undefiled and undefiling... and so on... Thus, the aggregate of feeling in ten ways. 47. The aggregate of feeling in one way – associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways – there is that which is knowable by some; there is that which is not knowable by some. The aggregate of feeling in three ways – there is that which is with initial application and sustained application; there is that which is without initial application, only sustained application; there is that which is without initial application and without sustained application... and so on... Thus, the aggregate of feeling in ten ways. 48. The aggregate of feeling in one way – associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling in two ways – there is that which is with influxes; there is that which is without influxes.
