there is form not clung to. There is form clung to and subject to clinging, there is form not clung to but subject to clinging. There is form visible, there is form invisible. There is form with impact, there is form without impact. There is form as faculty, there is form not as faculty. There is form as great element, there is form not as great element. There is form as intimation, there is form not as intimation. There is form arisen from mind, there is form not arisen from mind. There is form co-existent with mind, there is form not co-existent with mind. There is form following the mind, there is form not following the mind. There is internal form, there is external form. There is gross form, there is subtle form. There is distant form, there is near form... there is form that is edible food, there is form that is not edible food. Thus, the form aggregate is twofold. (As divided in the section on form, so should it be divided here.) The form aggregate is threefold – that form which is internal, that is clung to; that form which is external, that is sometimes clung to, sometimes not clung to. That form which is internal, that is grasped; that form which is external, that is sometimes grasped, sometimes not grasped. That form which is internal, that is grasped and graspable; that form which is external, that is sometimes grasped and graspable, sometimes not grasped and not graspable... that form which is internal, that is not edible food; that form which is external, that is sometimes edible food, sometimes not edible food. Thus, the form aggregate is threefold. The form aggregate is fourfold – that form which is clung to, that is sometimes grasped, sometimes not grasped; that form which is not clung to, that is sometimes grasped, sometimes not grasped. That form which is clung to, that is sometimes grasped and graspable, sometimes not grasped and not graspable; that form which is not clung to, that is sometimes grasped and graspable, sometimes not grasped and not graspable. That form which is clung to, that is sometimes with impact, sometimes without impact; that form which is not clung to, that is sometimes with impact, sometimes without impact. That form which is clung to, that is sometimes gross, sometimes subtle; that form which is not clung to, that is sometimes gross, sometimes subtle. That form which is clung to, that is sometimes distant, sometimes near; that form which is not clung to, that is sometimes... Is far, is near...etc... seen, heard, sensed, cognized form. Thus, the aggregate of form is fourfold. The aggregate of form is fivefold: earth element, water element, fire element, wind element, and the form that is derivative. Thus, the aggregate of form is fivefold. The aggregate of form is sixfold: form cognizable by the eye, form cognizable by the ear, form cognizable by the nose, form cognizable by the tongue, form cognizable by the body, form cognizable by the mind. Thus, the aggregate of form is sixfold. The aggregate of form is sevenfold: form cognizable by the eye, form cognizable by the ear, form cognizable by the nose, form cognizable by the tongue, form cognizable by the body, form cognizable by the mind-element, form cognizable by the mind-consciousness-element. Thus, the aggregate of form is sevenfold. The aggregate of form is eightfold: form cognizable by the eye, form cognizable by the ear, form cognizable by the nose, form cognizable by the tongue, form cognizable by the body, which has pleasant contact, form cognizable by the body, which has painful contact, form cognizable by the mind-element, form cognizable by the mind-consciousness-element. Thus, the aggregate of form is eightfold. The aggregate of form is ninefold: eye faculty, ear faculty, nose faculty, tongue faculty, body faculty, femininity faculty, masculinity faculty, life faculty, and the form that is not a faculty. Thus, the aggregate of form is ninefold. The aggregate of form is tenfold: eye faculty, ear faculty, nose faculty, tongue faculty, body faculty, femininity faculty, masculinity faculty, life faculty, non-faculty form with impact, non-faculty form without impact. Thus, the aggregate of form is tenfold. The aggregate of form is elevenfold: eye base, ear base, nose base, tongue base, body base, form base, sound base, odor base, taste base, tangible base, and the form that is invisible and without impact, included in the phenomena base. Thus, the aggregate of form is elevenfold. aggregate. This is called the aggregate of form. 2. The aggregate of feeling 34. Therein, what is the aggregate of feeling? The aggregate of feeling is of one kind – associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling is of two kinds – there is that with cause, there is that without cause. The aggregate of feeling is of three kinds – there is wholesome, there is unwholesome, there is indeterminate. The aggregate of feeling is of four kinds – there is belonging to the sense-sphere, there is belonging to the form-sphere, there is belonging to the formless-sphere, there is not included. The aggregate of feeling is of five kinds – there is the faculty of pleasure, there is the faculty of pain, there is the faculty of joy, there is the faculty of sorrow, there is the faculty of equanimity. Thus, the aggregate of feeling is of five kinds. The aggregate of feeling is of six kinds – feeling born of eye-contact, feeling born of ear-contact, feeling born of nose-contact, feeling born of tongue-contact, feeling born of body-contact, feeling born of mind-contact. Thus, the aggregate of feeling is of six kinds. The aggregate of feeling is of seven kinds – feeling born of eye-contact, feeling born of ear-contact, feeling born of nose-contact, feeling born of tongue-contact, feeling born of body-contact, feeling born of mind-element-contact, feeling born of mind-consciousness-element-contact. Thus, the aggregate of feeling is of seven kinds. The aggregate of feeling is of eight kinds – feeling born of eye-contact, feeling born of ear-contact, feeling born of nose-contact, feeling born of tongue-contact, feeling born of body-contact which is pleasant, which is painful, feeling born of mind-element-contact, feeling born of mind-consciousness-element-contact. Thus, the aggregate of feeling is of eight kinds. The aggregate of feeling is of nine kinds – feeling born of eye-contact, feeling born of ear-contact, feeling born of nose-contact, feeling born of tongue-contact, feeling born of body-contact, feeling born of mind-element-contact, feeling born of mind-consciousness-element-contact which is wholesome, which is unwholesome, which is indeterminate. Thus, the aggregate of feeling is of nine kinds. Of ten kinds The aggregate of feeling: Feeling born of eye-contact, Feeling born of ear-contact, Feeling born of nose-contact, Feeling born of tongue-contact, Feeling born of body-contact, there is pleasant, Feeling born of body-contact, there is painful, Feeling born of mind-element-contact, Feeling born of mind-consciousness-element-contact, there is wholesome, Feeling born of mind-consciousness-element-contact, there is unwholesome, Feeling born of mind-consciousness-element-contact, there is indeterminate. Thus, in ten ways, is the aggregate of feeling. In one way, the aggregate of feeling: is conjoined with contact. In two ways, the aggregate of feeling: there is with root-cause, there is without root-cause. In three ways, the aggregate of feeling: there is result, there is a phenomenon tending to results, there is neither result nor tending to results. There is grasped and graspable, there is ungrasped but graspable, there is ungrasped and ungraspable. There is defiled and defiling, there is undefiled but defiling, there is undefiled and undefiling. There is with initial thought and sustained thought, there is without initial thought, only sustained thought, there is without initial thought and without sustained thought. There is to be abandoned by seeing, there is to be abandoned by development, there is neither to be abandoned by seeing nor by development. There is having a cause to be abandoned by seeing, there is having a cause to be abandoned by development, there is having a cause neither to be abandoned by seeing nor by development. There is tending to accumulation, there is tending to diminution, there is neither tending to accumulation nor to diminution. There is trainee, there is adept, there is neither trainee nor adept. There is limited, there is exalted, there is immeasurable. There is with limited object, there is with exalted object, there is with immeasurable object. There is inferior, there is middling, there is superior. There is fixed in wrongness, there is fixed in rightness, there is unfixed. There is with path as object, there is with path as cause, there is with path as dominant factor. There is arisen, there is unarisen, there is arising. There is past, there is future, there is present. There is with past object, there is with future object, there is with present object. There is internal, there is external, there is internal-external. and external. There is an internal object, there is an external object, there is an internal and external object. Thus, the aggregate of feeling is of ten kinds. 36. The aggregate of feeling is of one kind – associated with contact. The aggregate of feeling is of two kinds – there is associated with a cause, there is dissociated from a cause. There is not causally conditioned, there is not causally unconditioned. There is worldly, there is supramundane. There is knowable by someone, there is not knowable by someone. There is with defilements, there is without defilements. There is associated with defilements, there is dissociated from defilements. There is dissociated from defilements but with defilements, there is dissociated from defilements and without defilements. There is binding, there is not binding. There is associated with fetters,
