After practicing for fourteen days, he developed extraordinary certainty in his mind. He also sang songs such as 'Peace of Mind'. Twenty-seventh, after that, when requesting the profound empowerment from Dharma Lord Gampopa (Gampopa, an important figure in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism), he personally saw the majestic body of Hevajra (Dgyes pa rdo rje) residing within a circle of light. Furthermore, when four Dharma brothers requested empowerment on the method of meditation, all four of them simultaneously saw glorious Heruka (dpal he ru ka), the vision being the same. Upon reporting to the Lama (Guru), the Lama said, 'Heruka is myself.' The master Gampopa saw six pure appearances in meditation: Hevajra three times, Vajrayogini (rdo rje rnal 'byor ma), and becoming one mass of light. Twenty-eighth, the Rinpoche (Rinpoche, an honorific title for high-ranking Tibetan Buddhist monks) said, 'You go to Monyul (Mon yul, northern Bhutan and southern Tibet) to practice.' So he took five Bre (a Tibetan unit of volume) of salt and went to King Gatong (ga tung) of Monyul. He pretended to be the father of a Tibetan concubine, and also acted as a translator, bribing the king with salt to gain an audience. The Lama became the king's object of veneration and stayed on the mountains of Monyul. Once, he ran out of food, and on the way down the mountain to buy butter, a tiger came out of the forest. The Lama stayed next to a hut, and the tiger circled him a few times and left, without harming him. On the way down, two women greeted him with a half-filled wooden bucket of nectar. Then he went to the king's palace to beg for food, and then returned to the mountain. At that time, he composed songs about the border between Monyul and Tibet. Later, when he was about to return to Tibet, the king of Monyul gave him some silk clothes and also gave him a poisonous mantra. When he arrived at Dwags-po (Dwags-po, a place name) and met the Lama, the Lama said, 'Did the tiger circle you?' He replied, 'Yes.' The Lama said, 'That tiger was an emanation of a Dakini (mkh'a 'gro ma), and the two women who greeted you with nectar were also Dharma protectors, Dakinis who bestow accomplishments.' He stayed in Gampo for a year. Twenty-ninth, he again said to the Lama, 'I want to go sightseeing.' The Lama said, 'Go.' So he set out from Gnyal-lam (gnyal lam), passed through the Lho-brag (lho brag) area, and arrived at Pal-ri (dpal ri). Traveling with four Khampas (khams pa, people from Kham), when returning in Gos's Phag-ri ('gos kyi phag ri), at a certain mountain pass, five servants were cooking, two went to collect firewood. When the two were cooking, a lightning bolt struck the sky and hit the two in front, killing them instantly. For the merit of those two, he offered two goat kids to the Lama. The Rinpoche only saw these scenes in a dream. Thirtieth, after that, he went to the Mi-nyag (mi nyag) area in Upper Tsang (rtsang), where... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once, two disciples of Milarepa (Milarepa), the monastic brothers, were there practicing, and they asked him for instructions. The younger one said that the master gave the instructions on Mahamudra (Phyag-rgya chen-po) as easy as pebbles. After that, Milarepa (Milarepa) also practiced in retreat at Byasang Drak ('Phan-yul Bya-bzangs brag) for three summers and winters. He gained immeasurable Tummo (gtum mo) qualities and became known as Lama Drakpa (Bla-ma brag pa). It is said that he had no obstacles to external appearances. He also had visions of many Yidams. Rinpoche (Rinpoche) said, 'Go to Jomo Gangkar (Jo mo gangs dkar) to meditate. There, Guru Padmasambhava (Padmasambhava) practiced essence extraction (bcud len) under the monastery of Pha'ong Karleb (Pha 'ong dkar leb), and many qualities were born in his mind. He developed the perception of the lama as a Buddha and composed the Vajra Six-Line Song (rdo rje tshig drug pa). At that time, he always saw a white female yak. In general, without devotion, qualities will not arise in the mind. I have never had the perception of the lama as an ordinary person.' That autumn, when he came to a pass near Temo Nyedrung (Ste mo nye drung), he saw a house by a pond with four women weaving. One woman said, 'Jowo (Jo bo), would you like a drink?' He said, 'Yes.' One woman went inside and said, 'Come in.' He said, 'There's nothing wrong, I'll go in.' When he went inside, all four women were there. They served him food and drink in a bowl that looked like half a skull. He saw all the fingers turn into Chakrasamvara (藏文:བདེ་མཆོག,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:Great Bliss) with four faces and twelve arms, with his consort. The food and drink also looked like human fingers. He ate it without hesitation and found it to be incredibly delicious. The woman then held the bowl up to the sky, and it filled with something like milk or pale water. He drank that too and found it to be incredibly delicious. As soon as he went outside, he saw the four women weaving at the door. After that, as he went down the mountain, the ground was as soft as a silk cushion, his body was as light as cotton, and he felt an indescribable joy. Between Zhunye (gZhu snye) and Ganye (Gnya'), there was a monastery called Dzong (rDzong). There he met a meditating woman who was herding livestock. He asked, 'Who lives in the monastery in Yaki (Ya ki)?' She said, 'My lama lives there.' He said, 'Can I see him?' She said, 'He is in retreat.' He said, 'Please, let me see him anyway.' She said, 'I'll go ask the lama.' She went inside and came out and said, 'Come in.' When he went inside, he saw an old monk and a nun. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-2-53b
