The two hold a bell and a skull cup. All have one face and four arms. The ornaments and posture are the same as the main deity. Emanate immeasurable four mothers, purify the four elements of all sentient beings, place them in the four immeasurables, and then gather them back and settle them in the four inner corners: In the northeast is the white-colored Eye Mother, with her four right hands holding a wheel, vajra, sword, and arrow; her four left hands holding a skull cup, bell, lasso, and bow. In the southeast is the blue Mamaki, with her six right hands holding an arrow, sword, vajra, wheel, wish-fulfilling jewel, and lotus; her six left hands holding a bow, hook, bell, lasso, skull cup, and khatvanga. In the southwest is the red-colored White-Clad Mother, with her four right hands holding an arrow, lotus, vajra, and sword; her four left hands holding a bow, skull cup, lasso, and bell. In the northwest is the green Tara, with her four right hands holding a red utpala flower, sword, hook, and arrow; her four left hands holding a wheel, lasso, skull cup, and bow. These are the attire of the Queen of Vidyadharas, adorned with all ornaments. In the central square, reside in the mandala of wisdom, In the other squares, reside the eight directional protectors, Together with the four goddesses each: At Harikeḷa, east by the Arura tree, The field-protecting Black Force resides with its retinue. At Koṅkaṇa, north by the Soma Valli, The field-protecting Great Force. West, at Oḍiyāṇa, the Ashoka tree, The field-protecting God-Given relies together. South, by the dust-free Chuta tree, The field-protecting One with a Black Name. Southwest, at Karañja Te Tsaritra, The field-protecting Great Builder. Powerful, at Aṭṭahāsa, the Kadamba tree, The field-protecting King of Obstacles resides with his retinue. Thus, the eight fields spoken of in Samuta are determined to be the meaning of the eight field-protectors and the practice lineage. The manner of how the directions are, is established according to the oral instructions of Gayadhara and Naropa. To the right of Indra, Brahma, Moon, Sun, and Vishnu, To the left of the Lord of Wealth, the Lord of Hosts, To the right of the Water God, Skillful Means and the Earth Goddess, each reside with their retinue.
