Then, above the directional guardians, on top of the directional guardian's cairn house, or in front of the cairn of Indra in the eastern direction, and the cairns of the eight directions, and outside the lower cairn gate, and in front of the cairn of the Nāga in the western direction, cleanse and purify them. Visualize the directional guardians coming from their respective places and residing. Meditate on the ten directional guardians, and offer tormas and offerings with mantras in order, and entrust the activities, reciting from "In the past, in the palace of willow trees" to "Reside in the teachings." Secondly, suppressing the outer and inner boundary demons: On raw meat or paper, draw a thin, disheveled-haired image of a demon with cinnabar or dye, pulling hair with hands and beating the chest. Also, on the raw meat, draw a demon's door sign. Draw an image of a demon, and on the foreheads of these two images, write bones, on the heart write the name, and on the genitals write "Mara who obstructs accomplishment, Phat," and finally surround it with fire.
