Thus it was spoken. Glorious Mahakala entreated: Blessed One, Glorious Mahakala, what is the cause of accomplishment? The Blessed One declared: To the lama, be respectful, strive in the yoga of glorious Mahakala, for all the branches of the ritual, perform them without doubt, if you always protect the vows, there is no doubt that you will obtain the two siddhis. Thus the Blessed One declared. Then, Glorious Mahakala entreated the Blessed One: Glorious Mahakala, for the yogi who wishes to practice, what is the ritual house like? The Blessed One declared: For glorious Mahakala, for the yogi who wishes to perform the ritual, first, through the torma ritual, accomplishment will surely be obtained. Thus the Blessed One declared. Then, Glorious Mahakala entreated: Blessed One, what is the torma ritual, which you said is the cause of approaching accomplishment? The Blessed One declared: This is the torma ritual, with three different characteristics. On top of clarified butter, place a skull, a mixture of fish meat and poison, as well as meat and blood and radish, wine and barley and various grains, the five meats and the five ambrosias, contemplate them as having the letters of the name. On top of that, on the sun, a curved knife and the syllable Hūṃ reside, rays of light radiate in two directions, in all directions above and below. Ignite the fire with wind, warm the skull, contemplate stirring with the curved knife. When warmed, it becomes the nectar of vows. The light above, invite the nectar of wisdom and blend it into it. Bless it with this. Oṃ Mahākālāya Jñāna Amṛta Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ. Scatter the syllable Hūṃ like grains of rice on the tongue of the great black one in front. Offer it with the root mantra. Simultaneously taste the nectar with power.
