The characteristics of the place are made of various jewels: the eaves are turquoise, the walls are lapis lazuli, the foundation is iron, the corners are coral, the roof is gold, and the door is silver decorated with lapis lazuli. Its sound is crystal. Inside, there is a ground of a hundred thousand horse corpses, and a cushion of a hundred thousand human corpses. The special places are that sometimes they reside in the realm of the sky, sometimes in the depths of the great ocean, sometimes in the depths of the forest, sometimes in the cliffs, sometimes in the empty rock caves, sometimes in the burning flames, sometimes in the whirlwind, sometimes in the floods, sometimes in the roofs, sometimes in the mounds, sometimes in Pravashana, sometimes in Bedesatra itself, and sometimes in the place of the breasts. These are the transcendent or great kinds, and in general there are many kinds. From the self-continuum of the Cemetery Goddess, the chapter on determining the place is the third. Then now the order of practice is proclaimed. First, the characteristics of the place are, on a very round mountain, in the cave there are high pillars, very red good soil, or there are nearby rocks, or black abandoned houses, or the confluence of water or mud caves, or the hilltop by the water or mountain caves, or the place where the water bends, under the shade of a one-legged tree, or like a high mountain in the north, or in tired places of land and rock, etc., search for and establish these places. Very clean torma, decorations and food and collections of drinks, give to the protectors, before this black work is completed, in order not to have obstacles arise, pray purely, establish the prayer of outer protection, one part give to the assembly of the six realms, one part give to the earth gods, send away the land ransom and entrust the curse. In a place where a person is killed by a knife and blood flows, or a hidden place, or a cave, or a place where corpses are piled up, or a place of cremation. It is said that mandalas can be built in these places. The method of building a mandala is to pile up soil equivalent to a donkey into a triangle. Build three steps on top of that. Make the middle into three crescents. Make the bottom into three triangles. Make three more in the triangles. Place three severed skulls under the triangles. On the inside of the skull, write the Tibetan letter ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) with black charcoal. On top of the skull, write the Tibetan letter མ་ (Tibetan: མ, Sanskrit Devanagari: म, Sanskrit Romanization: ma, Chinese literal meaning: Ma) with red blood. It is said that this should be done.
