If one does not understand this way of establishing a philosophical system that abides in the nature, free from effort and activity, then all speculative hearing is just a heap of words, thinking and understanding are the swaying of conceptual thoughts, meditation is clinging to it, and experience becomes ambiguous. No matter how reasonable it may seem to appear on the level of consciousness, it is very difficult to even get close to the profound aspect of reality. As it says in the Sutra of the Essence of the Buddha, "Neither ordinary beings, nor Shravakas, nor Pratyekabuddhas, nor Bodhisattvas can see the essence of the Buddha as it is." For example, a blind man asked someone about the color of butter. The person said, "It's like snow." When he touched the snow, he thought the color of butter was cold. He asked again, "What is the color of snow like?" The answer was, "Like the wings of a swan." Hearing the sound of the swan's wings, he thought the color of snow was noisy. He asked again, "What is the color of the wings like?" The answer was, "Like a conch shell." Touching the conch shell, he felt it was smooth, so he thought the snow was also smooth. No matter how he was told, the blind man could not know the color as it is. Similarly, it is very difficult to see the nature of the Buddha." Thus it was said. Similarly, the noble Manjushri also said in the oral transmission of the method for accomplishing that very reality, "Such supreme wisdom, how can ordinary beings know? Shravakas do not know it, Pratyekabuddhas also do not know it, Yogacharas and Madhyamikas, Bodhisattvas also do not know it, all the Buddhas with their retinues, even they do not know it slightly." And so on, the Buddhas and their retinues extensively taught. It is so difficult to realize because of effort, desire, speculation, and the mind that only clings to cause and effect, and the grasping that arises from mind and mental factors, clinging to various appearances as the seen and the seer, being divided and obscured by hope and fear. But here, in the common path of Dzogchen, abiding in the way of abiding of the nature of reality without bondage or liberation, without moving from that state, remaining in equanimity, thereby all phenomena are pacified into their own essence, and from the great state of trans-conceptual awareness, free from all actions, continuously maintaining the self-nature, instead of fabrication.

Also. All the stains of sudden skill manifestations are also self-purified, self-clear, and self-liberated like water and waves in the realm of self-awareness, emptiness, and immutability, without establishing enemies to be abandoned. Other than that, do not seek externally, do not deliberately practice, do not cling to one, do not hold with the mind, do not discriminate, do not consider it a fault, do not eliminate externally, do not accomplish internally, but simply abide in the natural state, and this alone is established as the name of practice and meditation. Therefore, the essence is emptiness because it is free from thought and speech, it is signless because it is free from discrimination, it is wishless because it is free from acceptance, rejection, hope, and fear, and because the object is not allowed in the three times, the nature abides in the nature of the three wheels of purity. As it is said in the "Bodhisattva Pitaka Sutra": What is the purity of the three wheels? That is, not to focus the mind on the past, not to follow the future with consciousness, and not to focus on the present with attention. Not abiding in mind, intention, and consciousness, therefore, do not remember the past, do not fantasize about the future, and do not indulge in the present. This is the equality of the three times, the purity of the three wheels. However, sentient beings have not understood it, so they should be made to understand it. Thus, the great compassion of the Tathagata pervades all sentient beings. Also, as it is said in the "Brahma Visesacinta Pariprccha Sutra": All dharmas are completely pure from the beginning, all dharmas are completely pure from the end, and all dharmas are completely pure from the edge of arising in the present. This is called the purity of the three times. This purity will never become impure at any time. With the nature of purity, this is extremely pure, therefore all dharmas are called self-luminous by nature. What is the nature of all dharmas? All dharmas are of the nature of emptiness, free from objects. All dharmas are of the nature of signlessness, free from thought and discrimination. All dharmas are of the nature of wishlessness, without acceptance, without rejection, without thought, without action, extremely essence
