Even if one attains enlightenment that is in accordance with one's own disposition, before that there is the unsurpassed Buddha Vajradhara, so it is called "with the guru." That kind of bliss is only a little compared to the union of great bliss. For a yogi who is extremely attached to that kind of bliss, why not cultivate this path that is glorious, all auspicious, and can be accomplished in one lifetime? One should only cultivate it! Vitapada has spoken well in this way. Likewise, the profound nature of reality, the suchness, is not an object to be realized by valid cognition and seemingly logical reasoning. As the noble *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra* says: "The object of individual self-awareness wisdom, inexpressible and with all words cut off, the nature of being free from contention is the ultimate truth, this is the characteristic of being beyond all speculation." And, as the *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra* says: "Evil children, speculators, like corpses, thus they speculate." As it is said. Those wisdoms that arise from speculative thought are those that discriminate after the words, terms, and characteristics of phenomena, generated by mind and mental factors, established by speculations such as pervasive qualities, characteristics and signs, substance and negation, contradiction and pervasion, and so forth, considering all phenomena to be without self-nature, without consciousness, without things, without alaya, and so forth, establishing emptiness in the mind and inferring it, this is merely a chain of speculations of childish beings, which the teacher Āryadeva himself acknowledges. As it is said: The teacher himself said: "The cause of arising and ceasing, is only discrimination. What appears as mere consciousness, is not the nature of things. Those who speculate and become discriminators, if they meditate only on what is imputed, then there is no self-nature and no consciousness, no things and no alaya. These are established by children, generated by evil speculation." As it is said. Therefore, the ultimate truth is the pacification of elaboration, free from the characteristics of phenomena, not abiding on the path of words and terms, never following after universal discrimination, therefore speculation and inference are extremely contradictory to the realm of ordinary beings, and therefore, one should abide in equanimity in the wisdom of such a state.
