The land of the immaculate lotus, and the noble ones such as the thirteen Vajraholders, are superior. In terms of time, from the perspective of the characteristic school, it takes countless great kalpas, while in mantra, accomplishment is achieved in one lifetime due to unbroken samaya, thus it is superior. In terms of enjoyment, the characteristic school practices by abandoning desirable qualities, while mantra uses them as aids, thus it is superior. In terms of yoga, the characteristic school distinguishes between samatha and vipassana, while mantra uses inseparable, inconceivable yoga as the path, thus it is superior. In terms of accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, the characteristic school only brings temporary benefits and cannot accomplish great things, while mantra uses any action, through various means of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful activities, to benefit oneself and others, thus it is superior. In terms of view, the characteristic school only knows the vehicle of the cause, while mantra ascertains the great secret of the result, thus it is superior. It is easy to practice, avoids the fault of fatigue, and accomplishes great benefit with little effort, thus it is superior to the characteristic school. In terms of accumulating merit, the characteristic school needs to accumulate vast amounts of merit through the practice of the six perfections such as generosity over countless kalpas. In mantra, even a small offering is increased like a treasure of space through the blessing of mantra, allowing for extensive generosity, and knowing that all places are Buddhafields, all enjoyments are transformed into merit, and afflictions are purified without intentional abandonment, thus swiftly completing the accumulation of merit and wisdom, hence it is superior. Furthermore, the characteristic school considers the appearance of form as illusory, and the actions of the body are limited to engaging in virtuous deeds in an ordinary way. In mantra, the secret of the body is that all appearances of the outer and inner world are deities and palaces, the body is complete as a mandala, and it does not deviate from the mudras of the deities, thus it is superior. The characteristic school considers speech as empty like an echo in a valley, and cuts off the activity of speaking, focusing only on engaging in virtuous deeds. In mantra, the secret of speech is knowing that sound is the nature of the indestructible great nāda (藏文:སྒྲ་དབྱངས་མི་ཤིགས་པའི་ནཱ་ད་ཆེན་པོ།,梵文天城体:नाद,梵文罗马拟音:nāda,汉语字面意思:声音), which brings down the rain of Dharma, and since speech naturally abides in the mandala of speech, all sounds and words that arise manifest as the self-sound of mantra, and everything that is spoken has unobstructed power, capable of accomplishing all activities, thus it is superior. The characteristic school considers all thoughts of the mind as without inherent existence, so they are sealed, and the mind is ordinary.
