All are individually realized as being like empty villages. Furthermore, the complete purification of the three spheres is to be fond of emptiness, to have faith in the signless, and to have no doubt about the wishless. Ocean of Wisdom, the complete purification of the three spheres is that all dharmas become completely pure. As it is said, dedicating in a way that does not focus on characteristics is also the way to be completely dedicated to pure enlightenment. In the Mother Sutra, it says: If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not know those Buddhas, Bhagavat, and those roots of virtue, and those manifest actions, and those aspirations, and does not make signs, then those roots of virtue are dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. In that way, the thought of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will not be reversed. The mind will not be reversed. The view will not be reversed. So it is said. Subhuti said: Maitreya, for the son of a noble family or the daughter of a noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, who practices the Perfection of Wisdom, wishing not to slander the Tathagata, should dedicate in this way: Just as those Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened ones, have understood with unsurpassed Buddha wisdom what the nature of those roots of virtue is, what the essence is, and what the characteristics are, knowing and thoroughly knowing, and by what Dharma nature they exist, so I shall rejoice. Just as those Buddhas, Bhagavat, have understood, so I also dedicate to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. In this way, the son of a noble family or the daughter of a noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle should dedicate those roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. If dedicated in this way, one will not slander the Tathagata. One will speak as the Tathagata has spoken, and speak according to the Dharma. The dedication of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices in this way is without poison.

Now, it will become the ultimate of nectar. Thus it is said, and for these, the Prajñāpāramitā is taught as follows: Son of good family, whatever giving there is, all giving, dedicate it entirely to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, whatever discipline is kept, all discipline, dedicate it entirely to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, whatever patience is practiced, all patience, dedicate it entirely to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, whatever diligence is exerted, all diligence, dedicate it entirely to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, whatever meditative absorption is entered into, all meditative absorption, dedicate it entirely to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, whatever wisdom is cultivated, all wisdom, dedicate it entirely to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, you should not conceptually think of unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, the dharmas from form to all-knowingness. Thus it is said. Also in the Sutra Requested by Sagaramati: Son of good family, furthermore, pure giving is wisdom, pure dedication is skillful means. Pure discipline, patience, diligence, and meditative absorption are wisdom, pure dedication is skillful means. In brief, all pure roots of virtue are wisdom, pure dedication is skillful means. Thus it is said. If pure dedication is divided into categories, it becomes twelve: dedication with no object of focus, dedication that is not inverted, dedication in a solitary place, dedication that remembers the Buddha's teachings, dedication that is skillful in means, dedication that is without characteristics, dedication that follows the Buddhas, dedication that does not conceptualize the three realms, the dedication that produces great merit also has small, medium, and large divisions, totaling three, thus eleven, these are spoken of in the Mother Sutra, but here it would become too extensive, so it is not spoken of, because all of these are included in the three dedications without an object of focus. Thus, even a small portion of the root of virtue dedicated to enlightenment in such a way, without an object of focus, is better than that with an object of focus.

The great logicians have also declared this to be incomparable. As stated in the Mother Sutra: In the ten directions, in realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, along with their Shravaka Sangha, who reside, nurture, teach, and expound the Dharma, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas, along with their Shravaka Sangha, if a son or daughter of noble family of the Bodhisattva vehicle, for as long as they live, serve, respect, honor, and make offerings with clothing, food, bedding, medicine, many provisions, and all comforts; and even after those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have passed into complete Nirvana, they continue to serve, respect, honor, and make offerings to their relics day and night with flowers, incense, garlands, perfumes, ointments, powders, clothing, umbrellas, banners, and many victory banners, practicing diligently for these purposes, and with these as their aim, they give alms, with these as their aim, they uphold morality, with these as their aim, they cultivate patience, with these as their aim, they exert effort, with these as their aim, they enter into meditative concentration, and with these as their aim, they cultivate wisdom. Compared to this, if a son or daughter of noble family, seeking to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, practices without clinging to the perfection of generosity, practices without clinging to the perfection of morality, practices without clinging to the perfection of patience, practices without clinging to the perfection of diligence, practices without clinging to the perfection of meditation, and practices without clinging to the perfection of wisdom, then, through skillful means, dedicating those roots of virtue to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, these are merits to be accumulated, these are roots of virtue to be accumulated.
