The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in the south-west direction, the west-north direction, the lower and the upper directions, know immeasurably and countless. The Buddha's eyes see and understand in their hearts. It is said that, and wherever the profound and definitive meaning of the Dharma is dwelling and spreading, and where the lord of the world, Brahma, Indra, and the four guardians of the world, etc., protect and offer, and constantly make happiness and well-being with joy and delight, etc., they vowed in the presence of the Victorious One. In the Great Vehicle Sutra, asked by the King of Men and Non-men, it says: Then the Lord of the World, Brahma, said to the Bhagavan: O Bhagavan, I will abandon the immeasurable bliss of meditation, and wherever this Dharma category is practiced in towns, cities, villages, regions, countries, and royal palaces, I will go there to listen to the Dharma. After going, I will also protect, hide, and save those Dharma speakers with Dharma. Why is that? O Bhagavan, because the Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, Indra, Brahma, the World Protectors, and the Wheel-Turning Kings are born from this. Then the four great kings said to the Bhagavan: O Bhagavan, we four great kings and the great Hearers of the Bhagavan will strive to protect, hide, and save this Dharma category so that it may abide for a long time. We will also make those who do not believe in the Buddha and the Buddha's teachings believe that they will also strive to protect the Tathagata's teachings. And in the Sutra of the Golden Light, the King of Sutras, it is also said: O Bhagavan, in whatever country of the king of men, the Dharma-speaking monks who hold the King of Sutras go, this Sutra of the Golden Light, the King of Sutras, will also be revered.

Venerable Blessed One, when a human king listens to this King of Sutras, the Sacred Golden Light Sutra, after listening, for those monks who hold this King of Sutras, we will always protect them from those opposing debaters. Completely protect, completely hold, completely govern. Venerable Blessed One, we four great kings will always protect the sentient beings residing in all the lands of that human king. Completely protect, completely take, completely govern, and make them peaceful and happy. Venerable Blessed One, when a human king treats with all happiness the bhikkhu, bhikkhuni, or female lay follower who holds the King of Sutras, Venerable Blessed One, we four great kings will make the sentient beings residing in all the lands of that human king happy with all the means of happiness, and make all means complete. Venerable Blessed One, when a human king respects, honors, serves, and makes offerings to the bhikkhu, bhikkhuni, male lay follower, or female lay follower who holds this King of Sutras, Venerable Blessed One, we four great kings will, among all kings, most respectfully, most honorably, most attentively serve, and most offer to that great human king, and also greatly praise him in all lands. Thus and so forth, extensively spoken. Second, the order of dedication and aspiration, divided into four: the nature of dedication, the necessary reasons for dedication, the manner of how to dedicate, and the actual verses of dedication and aspiration. First, divided into three: the nature of dedication, the meaning of the word, and the classification. First: all things belonging to worldly and transworldly white and pure actions, for the sake of complete non-abiding in the place of nirvana, for the sake of complete purity, the intention and mind, together with the seed, completely transformed by the power of wisdom. Thus also, as the Ornament for Clear Realization says: Dedication is especially supreme, that is the supreme activity. Thus it is said. The meaning of the word is parinata, which is called complete transformation or complete expansion. The roots of virtue of the worldly path, etc.
