Filling with jewels to protect the world's teacher, it is better than offering to all the Buddhas; whoever is good at practicing this Dharma, it is better than filling the Buddha lands in the ten directions with jewels as numerous as the sands of the Ganges and offering them to the Buddhas. Whoever abides as taught, there is no comparison to that merit. Perfect Bodhicitta, upholding the Dharma, practicing the Dharma, and being compassionate to sentient beings, these four Dharmas have immeasurable merit, whose limit is unspeakable by the Sugatas. The realm of space, the realm of sentient beings, the wisdom of the Buddhas, and Bodhicitta, these four Dharmas are immeasurable, and the wise should not doubt after hearing them. When the excellent Dharma is proclaimed, the Buddha lands in the ten directions shake, light appears, and a rain of flowers falls, and a hundred kinds of musical instruments sound without being played. The wise Bodhisattvas all rejoice and repeatedly praise. We who have heard such a wonderful Dharma, our lives become meaningful, and we have obtained great benefit. Whoever hears this Dharma, those sentient beings have obtained great benefit. Whoever does not forget Bodhicitta, they are all embraced by the Tathagata. Thousands of Buddhas in the ten directions extend their right arms and place them on the crown of the ocean of merit, praising how wonderful Shakya Simha's exhortation is. Gods, Nagas, Asuras, humans and non-humans, Gandharvas, Yakshas, Dakinis, Mahoragas, Indra, Brahma, world protectors, etc., all abide in the sky and repeatedly praise. Whoever upholds Shakya Simha and the Sangha, as well as such a Sutra, this Bodhisattva hero will live long in the world, and the well-spoken Dharma will never decline. Whoever upholds this Dharma, we will respectfully offer to them. We will all, with reverence, diligently protect and conceal this Dharma. Thus it is said. So, why, among the objects of offering to the Tathagata, is the merit of merely offering and upholding the scriptures particularly praised? Because the teaching spoken by Simhabhadra has already been quoted above, it can be known. Moreover, in the Prajnaparamita Sutra it says:

Kausika, therefore, a son or daughter of good family who desires to honor, respect, esteem, and worship the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, with flowers, garlands, incense, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, flags, and various musical instruments, should write this Perfection of Wisdom and honor, respect, esteem, and worship it with flowers, garlands, incense, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, flags, and various musical instruments. Kausika, I have truly seen that meaning, and after having become perfectly enlightened in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, I thought: To whom should I pay homage, respect, esteem, and worship, and rely on and practice accordingly? Kausika, I did not see anyone in the world with its gods, demons, and Brahmas, and in the multitude with its ascetics and Brahmins, among all beings including humans, gods, and asuras, who was like me or superior to me. Therefore, I thought: If that is so, I should pay homage, respect, esteem, and worship, and rely on and practice accordingly, the peaceful and excellent Dharma that I myself have realized through perfect enlightenment. Kausika, what is that Dharma? It is this Perfection of Wisdom. Kausika, therefore, I myself also honor, respect, esteem, and worship this Perfection of Wisdom, and by honoring, respecting, esteeming, and worshiping it, I practice accordingly. Kausika, a son or daughter of good family who desires to become perfectly enlightened in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment should honor this Perfection of Wisdom with flowers, garlands, incense, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, flags, and various musical instruments, and respect it.

What need is there to mention respect, reverence, and offerings? Sons or daughters of good families of the Śrāvaka Vehicle, and sons or daughters of good families of the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle, should make offerings to this Perfection of Wisdom with flowers and garlands, incense and unguents, powders and garments, parasols and victory banners, flags and various musical instruments. What need is there to mention respect, reverence, and offerings? Because, from the Perfection of Wisdom come the Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas. From the Bodhisattvas come the Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddhas. From the Tathāgata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddhas come the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Kauśika, therefore, sons and daughters of good families of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, or sons and daughters of good families of the Śrāvaka Vehicle or the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle, should make offerings to this Perfection of Wisdom with flowers, garlands, incense, unguents, powders, garments, parasols, victory banners, flags, and various musical instruments. They should respect it. They should revere it. They should make offerings to it. Thus, sons or daughters of good families who study it will manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. They will manifestly awaken to enlightenment. They will manifestly awaken to enlightenment. Those of the Śrāvaka Vehicle will also attain Arhatship. They will attain it. They will attain it. Those of the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle will also attain Pratyekabuddha enlightenment. They will attain it. They will attain it. Because it was said thus. Similarly, the benefits of writing scriptures are also mentioned in the Tantra that equals the extent of space: "For the seven precious things and so on, with the nature of all victors, the essence of complete collection, the nature of body, speech, and mind is written. Therefore, the great qualities of writing all the victors are inconceivable." Thus it is said.
