The emptiness of its own nature, because of its naturally pure nature, is the basis for the qualities of the Dharmakaya from the aspect of emptiness, and the basis for the plans of bodies and pure lands, such as palaces, from the aspect of appearance. From the aspect of wisdom, it is the basis for the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, and so on. Therefore, the abandonment and the result of abandonment are naturally and spontaneously present from the beginning. The so-called Buddha-nature, the essence of the Sugata, does not abide in the realms of birth, death, change, increase, decrease, causes, and conditions, and is not an object of names and thoughts, but is always present without defilement. As it is said in the Play of Manjushri: "Sister, even if a naturally luminous being is afflicted by temporary afflictions, the naturally luminous being cannot be completely afflicted by those temporary afflictions." And as Gyaltsap Mapampa said: "Uncreated and spontaneously accomplished, not realized by other causes, endowed with wisdom, compassion, and power, is the Buddha who possesses two meanings." As it is said. Otherwise, if, like self-emptiness, all phenomena are held to be empty of their own essence, then ultimately the Dharmakaya will also become self-empty, and bodies, wisdom, pure lands, and so on will no longer exist. The accumulation of merit and purification of obscurations based on this will also no longer exist. All the methods taught by the causal and resultant vehicles for purifying defilements, on what basis, by what path, and by what means, will also decline, because there is no basis for purification, so there is no need for a means of purification. Because of the emptiness of wisdom, there will be no benefit to others and no knowledge. Because there is no impure dependent arising, even nominally, there will be no qualities of the pure dependent arising transformation. The selflessness that is the basis for bondage and liberation will also no longer exist. The dharmas that are to be known individually will also no longer exist, and so on. Many faults will remain, and it is said to be the nature of the source of inexhaustible views. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Lightly Protected in the Noble Heap of Jewels: "Lightly Protected, those who rely on emptiness, focusing on emptiness, are said to have completely degenerated from my scriptures. Lightly Protected, it is easier to abide in the view of self as Mount Meru."

To regard pride as emptiness is not so. Why is that? As the Sutra school says, emptiness that arises from contemplating all things in the world, if contemplating all things in the world is emptiness, then I say that this cannot be restored. As it is said, and so on, it can be known. Then, is it not emptiness? It is not so. In the "Lankavatara Sutra," it says: What is the ultimate truth of all dharmas, the great emptiness of noble wisdom? It is that each person attains noble wisdom with self-awareness, free from the habitual tendencies of all views and faults. This is called the ultimate truth of all dharmas, the great emptiness of noble wisdom. As it is said. Such ultimate truth, in the manner of other-emptiness, also appears in the sutras of the intermediate turning of the wheel of Dharma. In the "Perfection of Wisdom in Twenty-Five Thousand Lines," it says: What is the emptiness of other things? Whether the Tathagatas appear or not, the abiding nature of Dharma, the Dharma-nature, the Dharma-realm, the faultlessness of Dharma, suchness, non-erroneous suchness, non-other suchness, the ultimate boundary of reality abides as suchness. Thus, the Dharma-nature, those that are empty of other, are called the emptiness of other things. Subhuti, this is the Great Vehicle of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. As it is said. In the "Uttaratantra Shastra" it also says: Possessing characteristics of differentiation. As such, and so on, as previously mentioned, it is extensively explained. Such a realm, in the continuum of sentient beings, is like a treasure trove of precious jewels in the earth element. Although its own nature is not stained by impurities, it abides in accordance with sudden samsara and similar appearances, like the example of water and ice. As it says in the "Samadhiraja Sutra": Pure, stainless, and luminous, unmoving and unconditioned, the Tathagatagarbha is that, the Dharma-nature that has always been present. Nagarjuna says in the "Praise of the Dharmadhatu": Just as water dwells within the earth, dwelling purely and without stain, so too does wisdom dwell within afflictions, dwelling likewise without stain. As such, and so on, is the ultimate meaning.
