Because it is not in play, it is an illusion. The self-awareness that clearly experiences everything is not an illusion, they believe. Non-associated formations are also just stages of form, mind, and mental factors, and are not considered other entities. And the three unconditioned dharmas are like the son of a barren woman, non-existent in reality. They say this. Thus, those of the Hearer lineage who are certain abide in any of the eight Pratimoksha vows, and by meditating on the four truths, such as impermanence, with four aspects each, they realize the absence of a self that is an independent and self-sufficient entity. By familiarizing themselves with this, they destroy the three poisons along with their seeds, and the two obscurations of non-afflictive ignorance, when the five paths are completed, with the Vajra-like Samadhi of the path of cultivation, they abandon them in a way that cuts them off, and manifest the fruit of the Arhat with remainder and without remainder. The Pratyekabuddhas, on the other hand, meditate on the four truths, such as impermanence, adding the twelve links of dependent origination. The way of progressing on the path is generally the same as the former, but the Hearers believe that the self of the person to be grasped should be abandoned. However, they consider the object of grasping, the object, the indivisible atom, to be the ultimate truth. The Pratyekabuddhas believe that external objects are deceptive, merely appearances of the mind, and not real in the ultimate truth. However, they believe that the internal grasping consciousness is real, similar to the Mind-Only school. As it is said in the Ornament for Clear Realization: "In order to eliminate the conceptualization of the object of grasping, and because the grasper is not eliminated, the path like the horn of a rhinoceros should be known as the correct collection." Just like that. In this way, from the great accumulation path onwards, they meditate on selflessness, and from the heat of the path of joining to the path of no more learning, they realize it in one sitting. Due to the sharpness or dullness of the faculties, The Hearers and Pratyekabuddhas are distinguished as different vehicles. There is not much difference in the types of thought and realization, and therefore their Vinaya is also the same. The third is the Bodhisattva vehicle, which also has two types from the perspective of tenets, namely the Mind-Only school and the Madhyamaka school. The first is that the consciousness that the Vaibhashikas believe in cannot be found if analyzed by divisions of time and directions of atoms, just as the Sutrantikas refute it. In reality, it does not touch the object, and the entity like a rabbit's horn is just a promise. Therefore, in the King of Samadhi Sutra, it says:

O sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are mind alone. As it is taught, all phenomena are considered to be mere appearances of the mind, hence the name Mind-Only school. This school also follows the teachings of the final turning of the wheel, and acknowledges that all phenomena have three natures: the completely imputed nature, the dependent nature, and the thoroughly established nature. If we divide the completely imputed nature, there are two types: the completely imputed nature of enumeration and the completely imputed nature of complete annihilation of characteristics. The former is for the purpose of applying terms, and it is the mental imputation of names and concepts to the self-nature or distinctions of phenomena, even though they do not exist in reality. The latter is like the two selves. The dependent nature also has two types: the impure dependent nature and the pure dependent nature. The former is the arising of phenomena in dependence on conditions, such as "with ignorance as the condition, actions arise," and so on, thus giving rise to a great mass of suffering. As it is said, it is all phenomena encompassed by the five contaminated aggregates of appropriation. The latter is the bodies, wisdom, and pure lands of the perfectly pure Buddhas, etc. The former arises from other conditions of karma and habitual tendencies, while the latter arises from the condition of the power of freedom from obscurations, hence the designation. The thoroughly established nature also has two types: the immutable and the non-inverted. The former is the meaning of reality, that is, the dharmadhatu is immutable, the essence of self-nature luminosity. As it is said in the Dense Array Sutra: "That essence is thoroughly designated by the name of the all-ground." As it is said, above that, as the root of all afflictions, is the undifferentiated ignorance, the unindicated consciousness, the all-ground, which is the seed of all, which is free from conceptualization and does not grasp at objects. From that arise the five sense consciousnesses, and after that arises the mental consciousness, which experiences external and internal objects. By examining that, whichever of the three, attachment, aversion, or indifference, arises, whether it is the three poisons or the five poisons, is the arising afflicted mind. The non-inverted thoroughly established nature is when the uncontaminated path has reached its culmination, and from the supreme all-ground of the result, the afflictions and their habitual tendencies are completely purified, so that the essence itself is manifested non-inverted.
