Just as the ground of the three families of Vajradhara, the ground of the four families practicing in the sky, and the ground of the five families arranged densely are elevated, so it is called Yana. Thirdly, the three aspects of the inner path of skillful means, in sequence, elevate to the ground of the letter wheel, the great assembly wheel, and the great bliss and wisdom of the Lama, so the explanation of the term Yana is established. Considering this, in the Lankavatara Sutra, it is said: "As long as sentient beings enter, there is no end to the vehicles." It is said that as many as there are discriminations of the mind, there are as many doors to the Yana that correspond to them. Therefore, here, even for those of medium and sharp faculties, the division into three is based on considering the capacity of the beings to be tamed. The upper and lower Mantra Yanas are shown to be the same, and on their respective doctrinal paths, the view, meditation, conduct, and result are complete, and each path is independent, only to explain this point, and ultimately to reach the ultimate, that is, the exhaustion of wisdom and the exhaustion of Dharma, reaching the ultimate truth of the noble path. Moreover, the Nirvana of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers is only temporary and not ultimate, and in order to attain the Nirvana of liberation from this, one must first manifest the fruit of one's own path and then enter the Mahayana, so in reality it is included in the Mahayana. Although in the Mahayana of the cause and the three lower Tantras, each shows different classifications of the fruit, in these fruits, the profound secret means of the path to reach the fruit are not shown, and there is a great difference between the completeness and incompleteness of the fruit itself. The Anuttara Yana is because it shows the complete means. The nature of the path and fruit of all the lower Yanas is contained here, and the uncommon Dharmas of the Anuttara Yana are not in those Yanas, and even if there are similar ones, they cannot be substituted, so they are included here. In the Anuttara Yana, the generation stage and the completion stage, whichever path is practiced, cannot be separated from artificial creation, so what is to be realized becomes a conditioned phenomenon, so there is a great difference in seeing wisdom. The Great Perfection has no opportunity to be touched by artificial Dharmas, and the truth of Dharma nature is realized as it is, and the path truth held by the lineage of the noble ones is obtained by the power of realizing the truth of Dharma nature, which is the unpolluted wisdom that the lower path cannot manifest.

In order to clearly see the unmistaken Dharma nature explained in many ways, all vehicles converge into this unsurpassed Great Vehicle, and therefore, it is also called the Wisdom Vehicle. As it is said in the Avatamsaka Sutra: "May those roots of virtue of the mind that are extremely devoted to the Wisdom Vehicle and the Great Vehicle be completely dedicated." And as it is said in the Sutra Requested by the Son of Gods, Rabtsal Semkyi: "This vehicle of the Great Vehicle, the Buddha Vehicle is inconceivable, it opens opportunities for sentient beings, the Great Vehicle is unsurpassed. Whatever vehicles there are, this is considered the most supreme of them. Therefore, all vehicles are thoroughly distinguished from the Great Vehicle." And as it is also said in the Holy Great Seal of Realization: "The vehicle is only one, there are no two or three." And in its commentary: "Also, to tame those to be tamed, they are tamed by three vehicles, namely the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, and the Great Vehicle. In reality, there is one vehicle, which is the Fruition Vajra Vehicle." And as it is said in the Intermediate Mother Sutra: "Subhuti, the vehicle is only one, which is the unsurpassed Buddha Vehicle." And as it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: "There is no second vehicle other than the one vehicle, there is never a third in the world, except to tame various beings." And so on, sometimes it is said that the vehicle is one, and sometimes it is said that there are two, three, five, etc., and there are also sayings that do not limit the number. As in, "For the sake of guiding children, I have spoken of different vehicles." And "The Vehicle of Gods and the Vehicle of Brahma, etc., as mentioned before." Sometimes it is also said to be countless, such as "As far as the mind reaches." And so on. Also, considering those who see the unmistaken nature of reality, it is also said that there is no vehicle. As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: "When the mind is completely transformed, there is no vehicle and no going." As it is said, for the sake of necessity, such things are taught. Regarding these, if one clings to "it is only this much, it is not this much" and makes strict distinctions, it should be known as a sign that the intelligence has not turned towards the true state. Here, for the time being, the order of the vehicles is determined to be nine.
