I went from Ngu to Zhikpo, with expectations in my heart. At the age of twelve, Jo Yes requested the Chakrasamvara and Vajrakila Nectar Drop teachings from Lama Marton. He practiced the long mantra for two years. Together with his father, he received one hundred and eight Chakrasamvara initiations. At Kharak Tönnying's place, he listened to the Mayajala teachings for two years. From Lama Tsak and Sedur Lungpa, he requested the Dzogchen teachings, rituals, and instructions. At the age of sixteen, he gave explanations on the Vajrasattva Namkhache (text). After sixteen, he went to Ngamshö Me. From Jetsun Zhak, a disciple of his father, he heard the Mahamudra Gangluk teachings. From Zangri Gyare, he heard the teachings of Loro Rachungpai Chökor. He also received the Hevajra Mesluk, Manjushri Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara Luipa, and the sadhana of Padmasambhava. He also received the Lamdre Zhamluk and the three systems of the Zhi byed school. In short, he had great learning in both the old and new traditions, without sectarianism. After a while, he heard the Phurba teachings from Nangtön Jo Khyam and practiced them at Chuwo Ri. At the age of twenty-five, he went to Zhikpo. Initially, he had no intention of seeking teachings, thinking, "I am also proficient in Dharma, and I also have many instructions. He is just famous and well-known, and he is my younger brother's guru, so I thought I would pay him a visit." So he went to the Dudtsi Ukkyi Monastery where Zhikpo was residing. Just seeing his face, he involuntarily developed respect. The next day, when he was about to return, he came to his presence and requested him to accept him. He said, "Do you have faith?" He replied, "I have great faith." He said, "If that is the case, then there is a connection, stay here now. The nature of samsara is impermanent, so who knows what will happen later." Because he did not make any conditions this time, he said, "No one who comes here brings provisions, what conditions do you alone need?" He stayed there for seven years, serving him day and night, serving him in the three ways that please the guru. He heard the Kunje Gyalpo Root Tantra, Mother and Son Three Sections, explained ten tantras, and the four sections of the explanatory tantras of the tantra that cuts off the root of samsara, including the root, commentary, subsequent Dharma, and instructions. The explanation of the eighteen root tantras includes profound rituals, hidden manifestations, and explanations of the instructions and practice sequences. And the explanations of these practices, the six "Suns of the Heart," as well as the six "Suns of Essential Wisdom," and the oral transmission "Black Crow."

etc. The Great Meditation Treatise, Awareness Sunlight, Eye Lamp, and pegs and nails, etc. The oral transmission of pith instructions, as well as the instructions and practical guidance of the Kyor tradition, Rong tradition, and Kham tradition, were practiced with great diligence. Having well consumed the stream of speech, blessings were instantly absorbed. Since realization arose like lightning, he was not afraid of worldly slanders. He cultivated conduct without formality. He was extremely respectful to the lama. He took whatever he was told to heart, and his mind merged into one with the lama's. He heard the lama say three times, "Whatever pleases the lama, may whatever you wish be accomplished." In general, there was no lama whom he did not serve. In particular, for Shigpo, he sold all his land and property, made pure offerings, and established the Dharma wheel four times. It is said that in total, he offered as many as seventy-four good horses. He wrote down all the oral instructions of the pith instructions, which was of great kindness to his followers. Having cut off the complexity of seeking the Dharma, he thought of going to a forest or a remote, rugged valley where there were no human or bird sounds, a place where there was no coming or going. Because of his unimaginable courage, he made all the books into small notebooks. Because the lama and abbot had entrusted him with the affairs of the monastery, he could not disobey. However, he said that by merely serving the lama, great obscurations were purified, and his samadhi also increased, which was more effective than going to a solitary retreat. The reason for this was that when the Great Compassionate Buddha of Thangka was being built, he worked as a copper smelter in Zurkhar for eighteen months, and a special realization arose. When the tulku abbot's riding horse was taken by bandits, he practiced Dharma protectors at the Nangsang Rock of Dortepu, and saw the face of Mahakala. When he went begging for alms in Tölung, he met the lama in a dream, and his suffering was naturally relieved. From then on, he said that he never experienced self-arising suffering. For the sake of the affairs of the monastery and accomplishing the activities of Shigpo, he did great deeds for the benefit of beings in all regions, and served the Jokhang and Ramoche temples in Lhasa for six years. He passed away at the age of sixty-eight in the Iron Tiger year, the year of Orgyenpa's birth, and many relics and remains appeared.
