He generated profound wisdom of realization. He was proficient in all aspects, whether it was the knowledge of terminology, the systems of Sutra and Tantra, or the instructions of secret teachings. Thus, these great beings, having subdued the extremes of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, made it the source of omniscient wisdom. Regarding the nature of Samsara, due to immeasurable weariness and renunciation, when they resolved to seek the places praised by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past—forests and remote borders—just as the Bhagavan observed the four causes of renunciation. There, due to the unjust conduct of the Khampa monks, he was determined to renounce and was close to departing with the conduct of a renunciant. Although the Khenpo and disciples, unable to bear the rarity of this holy being's wisdom, earnestly dissuaded him, because the merit of sentient beings and the time for engaging in the great work of benefiting others had not yet passed, they were unable to dissuade him. As he was about to depart, near the stupa of Rong Lotsawa Chenpo, he met a discerning Bhikshu. He also dissuaded him and expressed his sorrow, and after explaining the situation, he also felt dissatisfied with the Khampa Sangha. He urged, "Since you are going no matter what, it is useless for us to write articles ourselves. We should leave some harsh words for the Khampas." So, in a joking manner, he wrote criticisms on a piece of paper, had him take it and paste it on the Dharma seat, but the Khampas discovered it and did not allow others to see it. "Like a Rakshasa wandering in the land of Kalinga." And so forth, these thirty letters spread throughout the entire country. After that, wandering in uncertain places, devoted solely to practice, while residing in the dark cave of Gyama Chakla for five months of dark yoga, he heard the sound of cymbals and songs. When he wanted to see it clearly, a vision appeared, and he met a sixteen-year-old woman, adorned with a silk jacket and gold and jade ornaments, riding a horse decorated with chain mail and bells, her face covered with a golden net. He grabbed her collar and pleaded, "Please, Holy Mother, accept me." Then, a precious headdress appeared.

Having removed (the old hat), he placed the crown of the omniscient one on his head. From now on, may you always bless and bestow accomplishments, he said. He spent a long time in the samadhi of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. The auspicious connection to encounter the Dharma of the Great Perfection, the Secret Essence, was established. Then, at the age of twenty-nine, in the spring when he went to Samye Monastery, he entrusted himself to the venerable Guru Kumaraja, who was residing in Yartö Kyamgyi Phu, and set out. On the way, he met Yakdé Panchen, and although he was urged to go to Jédrung Karmapa, he did not listen and went to (Kyamgyi Phu). In Yartö Kyamgyi Phu, he met the Rigdzinpa (Vidyadhara) and his retinue, about seventy disciples. He dreamt that a wondrous bird, said to be a divine bird, came with a flock of many crows and carried all my books in all directions. (The Guru) said, "A lineage holder will come," and was very pleased. There, because there was no tax to be collected, immeasurable sadness arose in his heart. Because I had to collect taxes and had to leave the Guru's presence, I was ashamed to go during the day. Tomorrow, At dawn, he thought that he must reach the foot of this valley. Knowing this through his clairvoyance, the Guru said, "(Your tax) will be collected from the tax here, do not be sad." Two monks came again (to convey the Guru's message), and he was very happy. In order to inspire renunciation in the Rigdzinpa and his retinue, because he did not cling to any place, that year in the spring he moved from one empty place to another empty place, nine times. It seemed that every time he settled in one place, he had to move. Therefore, he had neither clothes nor food for himself. Because the weather and the snowy mountain area were very cold, he experienced immeasurable fatigue in body and mind. He had only three dré of tsampa and twenty-one mercury pills the size of small pills, and he lived on these for two months. When it snowed, he entered a bag that could replace a tent, and used both clothes and mats as blankets, etc. The hardships he endured for the sake of the Dharma are unimaginable. That year, he received the empowerment, instructions, and key instructions of the Great Perfection Secret Heart Essence, and practiced them. The following year, he completely received the upper empowerment, as well as the tantras, transmissions, instructions, and Dharma protectors of the three classes of the Great Perfection, and was appointed as the successor of the teachings. He vowed to practice for six years. At the age of thirty-one, in the juniper of Nyimphu,
