Without reliance, how wondrous! In the unsearched, naturally abiding Dharma, Everything is clear, how wondrous! In the three bodies realizing self-nature, Simultaneous perfection, how wondrous! In the inner space of vast expanse, Without end, how wondrous! In the wisdom of great emptiness, Immeasurable, how wondrous! In the fruition, Samantabhadra's emptiness, Things exhausted, how wondrous! In the non-thing primordial wisdom, utterly transparent, Without grasping, how wondrous! In the appearance of self-nature's descent, Without a seer, how wondrous! All these secret supreme definitive words, No teacher has ever spoken. In the vast self-born sky, The self-power of awareness unceasing, In the unelaborated Dharma, as self-sound, Unshown, known as the first self-born. Uninterruptedly, all Dharma words, Are primordially known as one's own sound. Self-born wisdom is expressed by words, From oneself, self-born, manifestly liberated, Holding the words of the great self-born. Thus, the teacher, awareness-emptiness, Samantabhadra himself, praised his own wondrous greatness and remained radiantly. At that time, from among the retinue, the Sambhogakaya named Vajrasattva, self-arisen from the radiance of his mind, and the retinue urged with this Vajra song:

Please make the fortunate retinues happy! Thus he spoke, and the retinues were delighted and amazed. From the essence of all vehicles, the tantra of the Great Expanse, the first chapter, which is the section on distinguishing the occasions for granting. Then, Vajrasattva asked the teacher Samantabhadra: O wonderful teacher Samantabhadra, in the self-doctrine of this teaching, how does the all-pervading wisdom exist from the very beginning, before the establishment of Buddhas, sentient beings, samsara, and nirvana? Please explain it to me, teacher. When he asked this, the teacher spoke in empty words: O Vajrasattva, listen! For the sake of satisfying the retinues, before the unestablished beginning, the way in which all-pervading wisdom exists, I, the teacher without clinging, in the uncontrived, self-pure palace, in the light circle inseparable from you, with words without characteristics or distinctions, all uncontrived words arise from the invisible, naturally exhausted mind, without speaking, without saying, manifested in the state of great equality. I, the self-luminous, pure teacher, from the palace of five pure lights, with the words of the uncontrived great treasure, to the retinues of the five Buddha families, all unreal, pure dharmas are taken from the mind where wisdom gathers, pure rays of light are displayed on the tongue, becoming all spontaneously arising letters, unspoken, manifested as the great natural state. The incarnate Buddha, without attachment, the arising of dharma, conditioned dharmas, from their own place, for the fortunate ones awakened from the six realms, with the words of contrived speech, also for the dharmas that suit the faculties, from the mind of self-luminous memory, without desire, displayed on the tongue, manifested as countless vehicles of dharma. Among the contrived words I have taught, the meaning is great, the precepts are numerous, all of this is shown to you, grasp it with an unchanging mind. First, the original purity is clear, empty, and pervasive, in general, without limits or partiality, the basis is originally uncreated, the essence is emptiness and the nature is luminosity, great compassion can illuminate everything, that basis is like a halo, because it is unchanging it is like a vajra, the causes and conditions of the four changes do not arise, that basis is uncreated and spontaneously accomplished, that is also great wisdom itself. The initial original purity is clear

In emptiness. Such is the very nature, Unmade by anyone, self-luminous. From the very beginning, nature pervades. Self-arisen wisdom arises within oneself, It is the realm of non-discrimination. There is no past, future, or present, No karma, habitual patterns, or ignorance. No mind, samsara, or wisdom, Even nirvana has never existed. Awareness itself does not exist, There is no appearance in wisdom. Alas! Listen to the single awareness-emptiness. Since self-arisen wisdom is without life, It transcends the extremes of good and evil. Self-arisen wisdom is free from action and fabrication, In the all-pervadingness of awareness itself, It is also called vastness. Since it does not change from Suchness, It is also called unchanging wisdom. Since it is the basis for liberation from arising, It is also called the intention of the three times. Since it does not abide in one place, It is also called the great selflessness. Since the invisible play is uninterrupted, It is also called the great unceasing. In essence, selflessness is momentary, The eighty-four thousand aspects are twofold. Since it is the spreading of emanations, It is also called the great emanation. That which transcends the two, realm and awareness, The self-arisen wisdom, unwavering, The conceptualization of appearance is self-liberated. Self-arisen wisdom has no gathering or scattering, Form and wisdom are manifest appearances themselves. Self-arisen wisdom is free from the limits of appearance, Transcending all objects and subjects. Self-arisen wisdom is immeasurable, Therefore, it transcends the two, grasper and grasped. Self-arisen wisdom has no inside or outside, Transcending all faults and virtues. Self-arisen wisdom has no delusion, Self-arisen wisdom transcends limits. Self-arisen wisdom is free from movement and action, In the self-arisen great wisdom, The appearing
