From the Tantra of the Wheel of Self-Arisen Bliss. Chapter Seven: Clearing Away the Darkness of Ignorance. Now listen to the essence of the gathering. All Buddhas, sentient beings, and elements, are impermanent, not the true nature. Therefore, worldly phenomena are incomparable. The basis of samsara and nirvana is ignorance. Now listen to the wheels of the gathering. Like a bird in the forest without father or mother, appearing in the expanse of the sky. When samsara and nirvana suddenly appear as two, ignorance is cleared away by realizing the Dharmakaya. This very primordial self-arisen state is sufficient with the realization of the view. Samsara and nirvana are both originally nonexistent, the very nature inseparable from objects. Abiding in the meaning of realized meaning, is the essence of the primordially perfect Dharmakaya. All hopes and fears, all extremes are pacified. It is inexpressible and primordially true. The phenomena of one and many extremes. Therefore, it transcends the two, samsara and nirvana. The view that cannot be proclaimed as "this." Now listen to the essence of the gathering. Because there is no substance, it is free from concepts. Because it pervades all, it is free from annihilation. Because it is free from center and edge, it is the self-arisen body. The Dharmakaya is like the sky. The inexpressible view is the object of mindfulness. Without distorting its meaning, abide on the path of wisdom. In the definitive view of self-awareness, contemplate the mind without expansiveness. It is not an object; self-seeing self is very clear. When that habituation is perfected, it is the wisdom mind. The nature of reality is free from elaboration and unchanging. Self-arisen wisdom abides naturally. That very thing is the supreme view that is inseparable. Now listen to the essence of the wheel. In the nature of samsara and nirvana, as long as the imprints remain, all phenomena appear as such. As long as the imprints are purified, the objects of appearance are originally nonexistent. Like a rope-snake or a mirage. The Great Perfection, the essence of the wondrous meaning, from the Tantra of the Wheel of Self-Arisen Bliss. Chapter Eight: Explaining the Edge of Ignorance. Then, in the wheel of the gathering, the All-Knowing King said: The view of the Dharmakaya of one's own mind is the awareness that pervades all. By realizing the meaning of the uncompounded, the boundless awareness is one. Now listen, Vajrasattva, the mind of the Buddhas, the equality of all. For all sentient beings without exception, the Dharmakaya is the body that pervades widely. Like the sky without center or edge, the uncorrupted awareness is natural.

Abiding. Without grasping, it is self-luminous. Without substance, there is wisdom. Like the rising sun's light in the sky. With unconditioned wisdom. Without support, it eliminates afflictions. Not relying on the five elements. Unchanging, destroying, like a vajra. The guru shows the meaning, the yogi. Without doubt, realizes his own mind. Everything is complete in one, that is. Like opening the eyes of the blind. That very wisdom and awareness is. Without existence, non-existence, center, or edge. Clear and distinct, it cannot be seen. Like a jewel from Kashmir. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. The uncorrected view

Whatever awareness of mindfulness arises, it is not identified at that very moment. Now listen to the essence of the gathering again. Do not meditate in the realm of the mind, because it is inseparable from the meaning of the view. Just as it is, there is no arising or ceasing. From the Tantra of the Wheel of Spontaneous Bliss, the Essence of the Great Perfection, the Marvellous Meaning: The Tenth Chapter, Identifying the Meditation of Wisdom. Listen also, Vajrasattva. The method of abiding in the identified meaning is like a lamp dispelling darkness and revealing light. With a moment's samadhi, ignorance is cleared away by eradicating habitual patterns. By the mindfulness of the very meaning of wisdom, one is not stained by afflictions and karma. Therefore, the mindfulness of one's own mind is like the illusion clearing and the delusion ceasing. By knowing the meaning that is free from characteristics, one abides in the essence of wisdom that is free from elaboration. Now listen to the essence of the gathering again. The basis of samsara and nirvana is self-arisen awareness, free from the imputation of meditation and non-meditation. The method of experiencing that is like a drop filling a large vessel. Likewise, the Dharmakaya of intrinsic nature, if the awareness of mind itself is clear, one will not go astray and Buddhahood will be attained. For example, a pregnant woman is like taking food at the time of birth. For a person who has scriptural authority and oral instructions, whatever conceptualizations of circumstances arise, by remembering that meaning as the definitive moon, one is not separated from the meaning of non-meditation. Like relying on the small needs, if one constantly attends to and respects a lama who possesses skillful meaning, the fruit, the Dharmakaya, will be quickly attained. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Even if the confidence of the definitive meaning wanes, there is no distraction because there is nothing to meditate on. In between the four times of circumstances, because one is not defiled by the objects of samsara and nirvana, one should make the original meaning unspeakable. Like a king who does not go out but gathers his retinue, the three kayas arise without meditating on the nature of reality. The great qualities are spontaneously accomplished. For example, just as a skilled magician cuts off the life of an emanation, like knowing that the lifeless is an illusion, by abiding in the meaning of the view of self-awareness, self-awareness dawns when practicing the five poisons. Knowing that there is no decrease in intrinsic nature, at that time, whatever afflictions are practiced, one is not stained by faults, and self-arisen clarity arises. That very thing is not spoken, for the sake of realization. There is no need to deliberately meditate. Now listen, all you gathered assembly. On the meditation of realizing one's own mind, gather all at once.
