If you wish for enlightenment, seek the meaning within the basis of all (ālayavijñāna), abide in its nature. This is the intention of the Victorious Ones. The essence of the Sugatas, although present in the bodies of sentient beings, is only because awareness is not seen. To surely see it, In the instructions, awareness is always inseparable. Now, listen to the essence of gathering again. Although there is the delusion of ignorance, the fruit, the Buddha, resides in the heart. Therefore, it does not come from elsewhere. Not from the beginning, but self-existing at this time. That is, self-cognizant wisdom, like oil pervading sesame seeds. Self-awareness pervades all six realms. Without birth or death, it continuously abides, like the earth's foundation and the sky. Without coming or going, the Dharmakāya abides. Not understanding that meaning, fabricating with the mind, wandering in samsara, there is no diminution. The wisdom of self-existing awareness is like the sun rising in a cloudless sky. In the midst of the unconditioned expanse, self-cognizant wisdom, the Dharmakāya, resides. Like precious jewels dissolving into light, the Dharmakāya is within the body. When the body disintegrates, memory enters the wrong path. Thus, the stream of samsara turns. The meaning, signs, and self-awareness are greatly situated. The nature of self-arising awareness resides in the minds of all sentient beings. Therefore, it is the basis of all samsara and nirvana. From the Great Perfection, the wondrous essence of meaning, the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss Tantra, the fifth chapter, which shows the abiding nature to all sentient beings. Then Vajrasattva again requested Kunrig (Sarvavid Vairocana), asking, "What is the method to realize the abiding nature of meaning? Please, Kunrig Gyalpo (Sarvavid Raja) explain." Hearing the meaning of the request, he commanded, "I will explain that meaning, listen with your mind. To a qualified lama with definitive teachings, with faith, diligence, and samaya, after honoring, serving, and respecting, the essence of the instructions will become manifest. Now, listen to the essence of gathering again. For example, like a Brahmin and an elephant, by the forceful command of the king, desiring wealth through enticement, intimidation, and deception, without the life-essence, there is no benefit. Likewise, if a qualified lama with definitive teachings does not show the instructions of the Dharmakāya, with various methods and deceptions, Even if one seeks Dharma with the fault of stealing teachings, one will not realize one's own mind and will fall into the lower realms. Now, listen to the essence of gathering again. Without jealousy, with a good heart, offering the life-essence to the king, the Brahmin's golden bull.

Two kinds of things arise. Both kinds accomplish whatever is desired. Likewise, to a lama who possesses the lineage, listen with contentment and obedience, even if he is poor. Because the lama is sharp in wisdom, able to keep secrets, and bestows the heart-essence of instructions, the disciple will surely realize his own mind. Therefore, cherish and respect the lama, for this is the way to explain how to bestow the definitive meaning. From the Tantra of the Spontaneous Wheel of Bliss, the Heart-Essence of the Wondrous Meaning of the Great Perfection: The Sixth Chapter, which shows the means of realizing the definitive meaning. The assembled retinue again requested: Please, O King of Equality, explain the view that dispels the darkness of ignorance, the ignorance at the limits of samsara and nirvana, and the spontaneously accomplished wisdom view. Having heard the meaning of this request, he spoke to the true retinue: This nature of the self-born heart-essence, like the rising sun, dispels darkness; like a certain prophecy, it destroys ignorance. The thigle of the dharmakaya is vast and pervasive; awareness is self-arisen, without contrivance. Therefore, the meaning of spontaneous accomplishment is clear from the beginning. The self-born heart-essence, the self-illuminating mind, is from the beginning free from all expression, clearly as it is, without conceptualization of meaning. The ultimate, free from elaboration, is the supreme of views; effortless conduct transcends objects. Being the true expanse, it is skilled in meaning; skilled in the realm of suchness. Whoever applies himself to that very meaning, transcends the objects of the eight consciousnesses, is manifest in the heart, and is difficult for all to realize, is the bliss of enlightenment. Unmoving and unthinking is the path of the dharmakaya; self-aware bliss is the expanse of wisdom. The thigle of realizing oneness is clearly manifest. Because the view has no center or edge, there is no need to seek acceptance or rejection; it is spontaneously accomplished. Awareness dances in the unborn expanse, free from the realm of attachment without a basis. Without meditation, the view is naturally clear; free from being led by expressive words. The certainty of the unborn has no gathering or separation; without appearance, awareness is free from things. In the true heart, there is no contraction or expansion; unelaborated, spontaneously accomplished awareness arises; all-pervasive, meaning gathered, ignorance without limit; the wisdom body is supreme, the dharmakaya is vast. Now, Vajrasattva, listen again: The self-born body of sentient beings of the six realms, all phenomena that appear in this way, by realizing the meaning of being primordially nonexistent, gather into the nature of one wisdom. The actions of body, speech, and mind, because they are karma that binds after being done, there is no need to seek a basis that does not exist. Without meditation, look at it without gathering or separation. The heart-essence of the wondrous meaning of the Great Perfection.
