The Bhagavan said: Listen, Mahakala, I will quickly tell you the ritual for distinguishing the power of those who possess the power of outsiders. Distinguishing, expelling, bewildering, summoning, controlling, and the forces of the armies of outsiders, and the groups of fears such as wild animals, I will tell the ritual for making them stiff. First, I will tell the ritual for distinguishing. Make an image of the one to be subdued, eight fingers high, on the earth of the left foot of the one to be subdued, the lifeline of the neck, virulent poison, tsampa, and the comb of a widow. Put the back of a human neck around the neck, and then make an image of the desired deity from white stone, excrement, and beeswax, measuring eight fingers. In the heart, insert the essence or the letters of the name of whatever deity, and then place it back-to-back with the image of the one to be subdued, with the mantra: Om Mahakala Ushta Devata, Bhindi Shaya Hum Hum Phat Svaha. Write it on a leaf of a tree in the sky and insert it. Then wrap it with human intestines, tie it to the foot, and nail it with four supreme phurbas, in the air.
