To the great Black One, the glorious Great Black One and the ḍākinīs offered the essence of their lives. Oṃ Mahākālāya Mugaśaṃ Raktu Mahākāla Raktu Apara Byiśa Hūṃ. (藏文：ཨོཾ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་ཡ་མུག་ཤཾ་རག་ཏུ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་རག་ཏུ་ཨ་པར་བྱི་ཤ་ཧཱུཾ།，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：，汉语字面意思：) Thus he prayed. Then, the Blessed One said: Lord of the retinue, well done, well done! Great Black One, well done, well done! To you, the tantra of the Great Black One, called the Great Cemetery, I shall explain. Thus spoke the Blessed One. Then, the glorious Great Black One and the assembly of the retinue prayed: Blessed One, what is the so-called Great Black One Tantra like? The Blessed One said: Holding the side of the three existences being reversed, demons and heretics, rākṣasas, as well as asuras and yakṣa hosts, to the teaching of Śākya Siṃha, those who harm and destroy, whoever destroys the teaching, in order to subdue those, I will explain these tantric rituals. First is the introduction to the tantra, second is the application of mantras, third is the ritual of the deity, fourth is the consecration of the maṇḍala, fifth is the ritual of the stake, sixth is the wheel of the deity, seventh is the ritual of suppression, eighth is explained as the ritual of burnt offerings, ninth is the collection of letters, tenth is the ritual of vows, through these ten, know yourself. Thus spoke the Blessed One. The first chapter of the glorious Great Black One Tantra, called the Great Cemetery, is the introduction. Then, the glorious Great Black One prayed to the Blessed One: To truly accomplish the meaning of the initial tantra, various কর্ম rituals, and since it possesses the means of accomplishment, what is the ritual of accomplishment like? The Blessed One, having manifested a great terrifying appearance, said: Whoever desires to practice this tantra, who cherishes mantras and rituals, will surely explain in the rituals of the tantra, one who possesses wisdom, possesses faith, and is supreme in meaning, through mantras, siddhis will be accomplished. The excellence of the glorious and powerful Black One Tantra, I will explain these roots of mantras. Tadyathā. Oṃ Mahākālāya Yāśāśana. Uba Harini. Eṣa Apaścīma Kālo Ayaṃ. Idaṃ Ratna Trayāya. Āḥ hi. Mara Mara. Gṛhṇa Gṛhṇa. Bandha Bandha. Hana Hana. Daha Daha. Paca Paca. Dina Meke Na Hūṃ Phaṭ Svāhā. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) This is the root mantra of the Black One. It is said to be the mantra along with the ritual. Thus spoke the Bhagavan. Then, the glorious Great Black One, along with the retinue of Ḍākinīs, became radiant and requested the Bhagavan: Please explain to me the sequence of the mantra rituals, so that they are meaningful for accomplishment. Then, the Bhagavan looked at the glorious Great Black One and the assembly of Ḍākinīs and spoke thus: Whoever wishes to accomplish the glorious Great Black One should go to the great charnel ground, a place where spirits and corpses gather, anoint the body with the five nectars, offer flowers of Upaka, incense mixed with charnel ground, a lamp of great black oil, a food offering of great meat, and an Argha of blood, with mantras endowed with contemplation. If one recites the mantras of the main deity and the Ḍākinīs, one will immediately become close. Then, inside six pieces of skull, mix neem milk, monkey tree sap, madder sap, and charnel ground ink, face south, and draw the form of the object to be accomplished with a pen of owl feathers. Fill the skull with charnel ground ashes and riverbank soil. Recite this mantra and bury it at the base of a tree, and immediately it will vomit blood. Oṃ Mahākālāya Sarva Ḍākinī Pukalaga Dudhi Rusi Va Hana Ha Hūṃ Phaṭ Svāhā. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) If one makes it with a gazelle horn or a buffalo horn, anoint one's body with saffron, face west, mix white goat and red cow milk with nectar, and draw a three-headed snake on charnel ground cloth with a pen of owl feathers. Write "ཕུ་" (phu) at the heart, write "ཁཾ" (khaṃ) at the forehead, write "ཧཱུཾ" (hūṃ) on the palms of both hands, facing outwards. On the skin of a black cat, draw the form of the object to be accomplished with poison, neck blood, crow blood, and charnel ground ink, face east, and draw with a pen made of crow feathers. Write "རུས" (rus) on the forehead of the object to be accomplished, write the name at the heart, write "ཡཾ" (yaṃ) at the soles of the feet, write "ཛ" (ja) at the navel, and write the four types of Nāgas on the four limbs.
