Then, for good water without heat, boil and cool it, and drink it in large quantities, so that parasites and the like can be expelled from the body. If delirium occurs, one should take good bone broth. If one becomes weak, one should always drink cold water. This will eliminate all life obstacles of earth lords, nagas, and evil spirits. Yogis should practice good water-drinking rituals. For this, the mantra of the method of extracting essence is spoken: Om Ah Mideva Hari, Sarva Pancha Amrita Hum Hari, Ayu Jñana Punye Svaha. From the continuum of immortal life gathered in nectar, the chapter on prolonging life with essence-extracting medicine, which is the fifth chapter. Then, the Bhagavan spoke of this method of summoning life with the mantra of the Yidam. The Yidam mantra practiced to stabilize life is said to be the king of longevity and disease removal. First, from emptiness, which is the basis of life, visualize yourself as white Amitayus. The right hand forms the earth-touching mudra, and on the left hand in the meditation mudra, place a vase filled with life. The seed syllable NRI is the nature of life. Radiate light, summon it, and dissolve it into yourself. Namo Bhagavate Aparimita Ayurjñana Subinishchita Tejorajaya Tathagataya Arhate Samyaksambuddhaya Tadyatha Om Sarva Samskara Parishuddha Dharmate Gagana Samudgate Svabhava Vishuddhe Mahanaya Parivare Svaha. Recite one hundred and eight times each day, and there will be no obstacles to life. The vow of longevity and disease removal: In the morning when the sun rises, face east, and on the moon disc in the sky, visualize white Amitayus, from the nectar vase in his hands, giving the gift of immortal nectar. Ring the bell, recite the prayer, and sit in the vajra posture. I offer and pray. Hum, in the Abhirati pure land in the east, you, the lord of life and wisdom, open the nectar vase, and from the ringing, radiant jewel bell, pour down the stream of water that realizes the four truths. Please grant me the empowerment of life, increase life and merit, and at this time, please grant me nectar. Thus, with the breath of the nose, draw nectar from the nectar bell, visualize it descending upon yourself, and this secret mantra should be recited one hundred and eight times.
