这是衰败的先兆。不在寂静的尸陀林修行，在城市里和山坡上，发出鼓声和“bhya”的声音，这也是衰败的先兆。密语没有从内心深处发出，没有给予征兆和标志，却用傲慢的口气炫耀，这也是衰败的先兆。不在适当的时候，从鼻子里放血涂在脸上，在人群中捶打胸膛，这也是衰败的先兆。不具备智慧的方法，口中呼唤神灵和魔鬼，这也是衰败的先兆。与具有资格的明妃相遇，却不开始结合，这也是衰败的先兆。接受恶劣和有缺陷的供养，却不超度十方刹土，这也是衰败的先兆。这些是誓言衰败的过失。如果根本誓言三者衰败，将会堕入金刚地狱，在那里痛苦无法忍受。不献六时供养，不守护事业手印，这也是衰败的先兆。那样之后，不可能获得长寿。如果支分誓言五者衰败，这里也会出现十种罪过，之后也会堕入那落迦地狱。头被锤子击打，两侧被斧头砍断，脚下被刀剑刺穿。这是行为誓言衰败的后果，这里也会有疾病和巨大的痛苦，各种麻风病和恶疾会到来。成千上万的母众会取走心脏的血液，成千上万的食肉者会分离血肉和骨骼。十四位自性母神也会因为誓言衰败而降临为魔。所有的母神都会成为刽子手，寿命和生命会出现障碍，死后会转生到地狱。如果不安住于这个誓言，所作之事不会成功，只会增加悲伤，即使修行也不会出现成就的征兆。舍弃了秘密誓言的经典，无论讲述内外一切的律藏，以及续部和怛特罗，我都未曾说过它们能够成就。甚至会失去本来的自心。这是讲述誓言衰败过失的章节，第四十一章完毕。守护誓言的功德是：一切所思所想之事都会成就，在空中行走如同鸟儿般飞翔，潜入水中如同鱼儿般游泳，给予一切想要的咒语成就，所修持的三种持明者都会成就，自性母神会变得慈爱。

Instead of practicing in a secluded charnel ground, making drum sounds and "bhya" sounds in the city and on the mountainside, this is also an early sign of decline. Mantras not arising from the depths of the heart, without giving signs and omens, yet boasting with an arrogant tone, this is also an early sign of decline. Not at the proper time, drawing blood from the nose and smearing it on the face, beating the chest in the middle of a crowd, this is also an early sign of decline. Without possessing the means of wisdom, calling out to gods and demons from the mouth, this is also an early sign of decline. Encountering a qualified consort, yet not beginning union, this is also an early sign of decline. Accepting bad and flawed offerings, yet not liberating the ten directions of realms, this is also an early sign of decline. These are the faults of vows declining. If the three root vows decline, one will be reborn in the Vajra Hell, where suffering is unbearable. Not offering the six-session offering, not guarding the karma mudra, this is also an early sign of decline. After that, it is impossible to obtain longevity. If the five branch vows decline, here also ten faults will arise, and later one will be reborn in the Naraka Hell. The head is struck with a hammer, the sides are cut off with an axe, the feet are pierced with swords and knives. This is the consequence of conduct vows declining, here also there will be disease and great suffering, various leprosy and evil diseases will come. Thousands of mother gatherings will take the heart's blood, thousands of flesh-eaters will separate flesh and bones. The fourteen self-existing mother goddesses will also descend as demons due to vows declining. All the mothers will become executioners, obstacles to life and lifespan will arise, and after death one will be reborn in hell. If one does not abide in this vow, what is undertaken will not succeed, only increase sorrow, and even if one practices, signs of accomplishment will not appear. Abandoning the scriptures of secret vows, no matter what is taught of the inner and outer Vinaya Pitaka, and the Tantras, I have not said that they can accomplish. One will even lose one's original mind. This is the chapter explaining the faults of vows declining, the forty-first is complete. The merits of guarding vows are: whatever is thought and desired will be accomplished, walking in the sky like a bird flying, diving into the water like a fish swimming, granting whatever mantra accomplishment is desired, whatever of the three Vidyadharas one practices will be accomplished, the self-existing mother goddesses will become loving.

May the worldly mothers listen like servants. May they serve like attendants, obeying every command. May the great hosts of dakinis gather like retinues. May the three kinds of siddhis be attained in due order. May life, glory, power, and merit increase. May all wealth gather, and may we possess enjoyment. May all sisters be cared for like lords. May all enemies and obstacles be subdued like firewood. May all teachings naturally flourish. By taking these vows to heart, accomplishment will surely come about. Just like the truly good Samantabhadra, he is the chief of all Buddhas. He is the path of all victors, as Samantabhadra truly declared.
