Then, Avalokiteshvara, the Lord, made a request to the Great Lord of Dance: "To the extent of the rivers and oceans in the six realms of the ten directions, and the collections of flowers, fruits, and branches, and the visible and invisible, and so forth, and these five desirable qualities, since they are the magical displays of the Naga kings, please subdue the Naga kings with your power. Great Powerful One, with the Body of Perfect Enjoyment, subdue the three poisons, and unite the three bodies into your heart. With the Horse-Headed One of arrogance, wrath, and ferocity, with the greatness of majesty, with the great wisdom, and with the sharp and piercing hook of compassion, gather the retinue of Nagas, such as the endless conch-holders, under your power, and liberate them manifestly, and hold them as a symbolic hand gesture, I prostrate to you." Having made such a request, the Bhagavan spoke these words: "On the ground where the three realms are seen as a sea of blood, cut off the root of desire, and the sea of blood churns.
