Without abiding by vows, Without completing the retreat, Relying solely on words and scriptures, I have said, the meaning will not be accomplished. From the Secret Tantra of Holy Manjushri Immaculate, the twenty-first chapter, which shows the faults of non-accomplishment. Then, the glorious Vajradhara, For the sake of the Buddhas and Gurus, When performing this fierce activity, To eliminate the sins of the body, One should also recite the Dharma of the Tathagatas, Perform virtuous deeds at midnight, Make offerings and give alms, and confess sins. To eliminate the sins of speech, Recite the great confession of the Hundred Syllables, Confessing each syllable a hundred times. To eliminate the sins of mind, One should eliminate one's own faults, Confess the past and restrain the future, To burn with the fire of non-discrimination, Do not let the mind wander from the nature of reality. Like the mind of a deer listening for sounds. Without separating from the mind of compassion, If not separated from love and so on, One's own mind will become completely pure, Like a wish-fulfilling jewel. One's own mind knows how to grant accomplishments, Like a precious jewel, After putting it in a gau box, If one does not cherish it extremely, It will not grant the supreme needs, And there will be much harm to the jewel. Likewise, one's own mind, the jewel, In the aggregate body like a gau box, Enemies transformed into the five poisons, The diseases of wind, bile, and phlegm combined, With beneficial clothing and food, Offerings to the aggregate body like a gau box. Like a boat carrying to the other shore, With cracks, it will not reach, If that boat is repaired well, Like reaching the other shore. Likewise, the aggregate body is like a boat, For the sake of repairing it well, even the wise should strive. Lying down, rising up, and walking, Rely on beneficial foods, abandon harmful ones, Skillfully combine sleep and labor and practice. Like a treasure hidden inside a casket, Like a precious jewel, a place of reverence, Likewise, the disease-free aggregate body, And one's own mind, the pure jewel, Are the places of reverence for the Sugatas of the three times. Like a precious jewel, With the nature of having impurities, It will not produce the desired things, If it is wiped with cloth and so on, And the impurities are purified, Like granting the desired things. Likewise, one's own mind, the jewel, Has the impurities of body, speech, and mind, One should examine one's own faults and abandon them, One should strive for the afflictions of the body.

Thus, when one's own mind is pure, the Sugatas of the three times appear directly. Likewise, Dharma protectors, lords, assemblies of yoginis, dakinis, and worldly beings with great power of karma, from distant places, offer assistance. From the Secret Tantra of Immaculate Manjushri, the chapter on the activity of accomplishment and the exposition of qualities, the twenty-second. Then, the glorious Vajradhara, devoid of compassion and bodhicitta, towards those of the nature of broken samaya, those beings, having their lives taken, their lifespan exhausted, are born in the lower realms. Thus, one's own mind is without shame. One who possesses unfailing compassion, that great yogi also, if desiring to attain the unsurpassed fruit, in order to destroy one's own afflictions, through the great and small hand gestures of recitation, having completed the approach and accomplishment, protects the teachings, pacifies afflictions, and attains enlightenment. Therefore, the hand gestures, when arising from the sound of the cymbals, likewise, the sound of the cymbals themselves, the sound of the non-duality of skillful means and wisdom, causes the Sugatas of the three times to listen. The sounds of drums and cymbals striking together, the sounds of blowing, etc., are immeasurable. However, the sound of clapping hands and cymbals does not even compare to a hundred million. During the time of fierce activities, the small hand gesture, the sound of clapping hands, is the wheel of skillful means and wisdom, fiercely rotated and struck seven times, is a sign for worldly non-humans, and also burns the body, mind, and continuum of whatever is fixated upon. When this sound of the cymbals is struck, it is the abode of all the Tathagatas. With the fear of clapping hands, all are terrified, and it is known as the Tibetan sound of pretas. From the Secret Tantra of Immaculate Manjushri, the chapter on the great and small hand gestures, the twenty-third. Then, the glorious Vajradhara, with the fierce wheel of the corpse, subduing the deities at the vital points, and swiftly liberating whatever is fixated upon, in a great solitary place, after the great hero has gone, either oneself or three individuals, after giving torma to the spirits, also cuts off the outer, inner, and secret boundaries, with a mind that abandons fear, holding swords, together with three companions, from the direction of Yama, searches for substances, with a fearless mind, searches for unblemished substances, which brings an end to obstacles.
