When asked if it was a crow, I replied, "I believe this must be the Sanskrit version of the Guhyagarbha Tantra, so I have been keeping it as a yidam." He immediately ordered it to be brought, and the person quickly took it and offered it. He looked at it and was very pleased. This Sanskrit version was written very beautifully on palm leaves in the Wartu script, and it was passed down from the time of the early kings. Due to its age, some of the letters have been worn away. The beginning of the ninth chapter is missing a palm leaf, and the end of the last chapter, the twentieth, is also incomplete. He was very pleased, and then again ordered that this Sanskrit version be sent to Yarlungpa Shagong Lotsawa Sherab Zangpo, who is said to have awakened the seeds of his previous learning and who, in this life, can become a translator with little effort. Because he has the previous Sanskrit version there, he ordered it to be sent to the place of collation. He also copied it as he was told, and made various translation notes. Where the original was unclear, the copy was also treated in the same way. After the collation was completed, namaḥ śrī gurave ratnatrayāya (Tibetan: ན་མཿ་ཤྲཱི་གུ་ར་ཝེ་རཏྣ་ཏྲ་ཡཱ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः श्री गुरुवे रत्नत्रयाय, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ śrī gurave ratnatrayāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the glorious guru, the Three Jewels). In this cool land, for those who hold the scriptures, like the king of stars, the full moon, from all aspects very clear and bright, may the wise and excellent Ralgri Gyal be victorious! I report before you: You said to copy and send the Sanskrit version of the Glorious Guhyagarbha Tantra. I have copied it carefully, without making any modifications, and without adding any punctuation to the verses, copying it as it was in the original Sanskrit version. If I modified the places that became unclear after the early translation and careful collation, I was afraid of making mistakes, so I did not modify them. I ask you to check and correct it, and to eliminate slander, please make it public to everyone. The essence of all tantras, the glorious Guhyasamaja, and other great tantras that are inseparable from it, may I encounter these profound dharmas and the great vehicle dharma, and be able to practice according to your teachings! This letter and the Sanskrit version were offered to the Blessed One. When the Blessed One gathered many mantra practitioners and virtuous friends at Shab Jomo Lhakhang, he sent the Sanskrit version of this tantra and said, "This seems to be the work of Padmasambhava, and explained the reason why this tantra is pure." They said, "Does Tibet have a Sanskrit version of this tantra now?

Well, we have never had any doubts. After a long time, Jangripa Sherab Gyatso requested that Chinese text from the hands of the Bhagavan and went to Tharpa Lotsawa, saying: Because of the differences in what the past saints translated and the differences in quantity in the Chinese text, and in order to eliminate the doubts of the six inversions, please translate it as well. Therefore, based on the commentaries of "Sunlight Lion," "Buddha Secret," and "Arrogant Vajra," as well as the old translations, everything that is not in the old translations but is in this Chinese text has been translated. Whatever words appear here and are in the old translations are written as in the old translations. The old translations have been translated from a long time ago, and I have arranged the translations according to the Chinese text. Also, from the third chapter, "I and my others"; from the sixth chapter, "Acting in the great mandala of all origins"; from the seventh chapter, "Like that, like being drunk and awake"; from the ninth chapter, "In each and every bindu itself"; from the seventeenth chapter, "Many blazing wrathful ones arise"; and finally, "All the Tathagatas rejoice without distinction"; also, in "Noble King of Thought," up to "the supreme of fruits," does not appear in this Chinese text. The beginning of the ninth chapter, "Then the disciple is introduced," this Chinese text is missing a page, which was also supplemented from the old translation. Also, in the fourth chapter of this Chinese text, the fifty Sanskrit letters and the explanation of their meanings appear completely. In the fifteenth chapter, five concluding verses appear. The six inversions also appear completely in this Chinese text, but not in the Chinese commentaries such as "Sunlight," so it is clear that there are two versions of the Chinese text, extensive and concise. The claim that texts were concealed in Tibet is not true; it is only showing the extensive and concise nature of the text. Therefore, one should abandon partiality, arbitrariness, and ignorance, which are the causes of samsara, and translate with pure intention. Therefore, one should abandon jealousy towards those higher than oneself, competitiveness towards those equal to oneself, and contempt towards those lower than oneself. When I look at this translation, it may be helpful in some aspects of the meaning of the words.
