Therefore, since the two form bodies, which are called invisible because they are liberated from the terms of seer and seen, are said to appear to those to be tamed merely as the result of the non-cessation of the accumulation of previous merit, or merely as the attraction of aspiration. The second view is: If that is the case, then, does that wisdom itself cease from itself, or is it cut off by another antidote? If it ceases from itself, that is unreasonable, because the wisdom of mere awareness that has eliminated obscurations also exists endlessly. If someone says that even mere awareness does not exist in the state of Buddhahood, then the Buddha would become an inanimate object. If it is cut off by another antidote, that is also unreasonable, because it is impossible for another Dharma to exist that is an antidote like the Vajra-like Samadhi. If the sign (of Vajra-like Samadhi) is not established, then the antidote will become endless, which is too extreme. As it says in the Compendium: "If there is no wisdom, Bodhi neither increases nor decreases. The Buddha Dharma, like the ocean, will also cease to exist." And so on, many scriptures contradict this. The second part includes: stating the position and refuting it. The first view is: In the state of Buddhahood, after eliminating obscurations with the Vajra-like Samadhi, as a trace, wisdom is continuous. Moreover, from that, with the wisdom of conventional truth, one sees the seen and the seer, which is established by the scripture that previously prevented cessation. The second view is: If that is the case, then the wisdom of the state of Buddhahood itself becomes an illusion, because it takes the conventional as its object, just like the consciousness of an ordinary person. Someone objects: This inference is not pervasive, because although it merely appears as an object, it does not cling to it as an object of attachment. If so, then the wisdom of the Buddha becomes a one-sided elimination. If the answer is that although the wrong view of illusion towards the object has been eliminated, the wrong view of illusion towards the appearing object has not been eliminated. If this is admitted, then it contradicts the scripture, which says: "Supreme wisdom is selfless, it does not see because there is no appearance." The third part includes: the main point and eliminating the dispute. The first point is: We neither slander the cessation of wisdom, nor do we embellish the non-cessation of wisdom. Rather, we observe with non-conceptual self-illumination in the manner of the nature of reality, which is free from both of these extremes. Just as it says in this: "Emptiness, selflessness, original wisdom, self-illuminating mind. Without object or subject, transform the power of memory." And in the Samadhiraja Sutra it says: "Of Nirvana"

In the nature of Dharma, there is no Dharma, For what reason is it without nature, it is eternally unchanging. Those with conceptual thoughts speak of existence and non-existence. By examining in this way, suffering will not be pacified. Thus it is said. Secondly, among the three examinations of object, existence, non-existence, and non-duality, if one observes by making it an object, then the wisdom of the Buddha will become one with grasping and being grasped, because the object and the subject arise. If you accept this, then it follows that it is not a pure lineage, because there is grasping and being grasped, just like sentient beings. Furthermore, if one observes without making it an object, then it follows that the ear also hears sounds through the eye. Therefore, if you accept this, it is clear. Moreover, the Buddha himself would become deluded, because he sees what is non-existent, like the color of a conch shell for someone with yellow eyes. Even if one says that one observes without distinction, it is not reasonable, because the object of observation and the observer are contradictory, like the eye seeing the eye. In response, the views of the higher lamas are different. Lhaje Dati (a person's name). He does not exaggerate by saying that he observes with an object, and he does not slander by saying that he does not observe with an object. He says that he observes the object and the subject without distinction. If you ask, if the object of observation and the observer are contradictory, what is the answer? He replies that he does not want to establish the two as separate entities, because fully realizing without distinction is the very arising of great compassion, because it becomes the basis of all benefit. This is also stated in the sixth meaning of the Great Perfection meditation: "If one realizes that the Buddha and sentient beings are not two, that is called the arising of great compassion." Thus it is said. If you ask, what is the difference between great compassion and wisdom? He replies that fully realizing without distinction is wisdom, and that is great compassion from the aspect of being the basis of all benefit. Je Dropuk said: If you take it in a narrow sense, abandoning the exaggerations and slanders of object, existence, and non-existence, all phenomena are seen as self-illuminating without conceptual thought, like reflections in a mirror. As the extensive commentary says: "Without conceptual thought, he knows everything clearly." Therefore, if you take it in a broad sense, you can also observe with an object, all the minds and mental factors of the three realms encompassed by the three times are clearly known without obstruction, appearing like an Amla fruit placed in the palm of the hand. Also, one can observe without an object, because no matter how it appears, it is empty in its true nature. One can also observe without distinction, in the nature of what is to be known, sentient beings who are the object of the arising of compassion, and the one who arises.
