The statement "producing day and night" indicates that there are 21,600 breaths in each day and night. Furthermore, if considered in terms of the twelve transformations, among the sixty-four petals of the navel chakra, the four that are subdivisions of the initial six divisions are the transformations of the central channel. Because the mandala does not descend, they are called the four empty channels. The manner in which the remaining sixty operate is as follows: from the channels at the ends of the pores, the winds of the chakra mix with the winds of the navel and flow into the nostrils through a single path. Moreover, the five elements, in the order of gathering and dispersing from left and right, have five *dbyug gu* (དབྱུག་གུ, , , literally ""), for each transformation. Each *dbyug gu* (དབྱུག་གུ, , , literally ""), has three hundred and sixty breaths, so each transformation has one thousand eight hundred breaths. On top of that, due to the division of the four empty channels, one-half plus one thirty-second of each breath is the wind of wisdom. When accumulated, each *dbyug gu* (དབྱུག་གུ, , , literally ""), has eleven and one-quarter breaths. Each transformation has fifty-six and one-eighth. Six hundred and seventy-five of these circulate in one day and night, and if condensed into hours, it is one hour, fifty-two minutes, and three breaths. When accumulated for one month, it is fifty-six hours and fifteen minutes. When repeated twelve times, it is eleven days and fifteen hours, which is the number of wisdom winds for one year, which outwardly becomes the cause of intercalary months. The total wisdom winds accumulated by a person of one hundred years is three and one-third years, etc., which are extensively discussed in other tantras. Regarding colors: the earth wind is yellow, the water wind is white, the fire wind is red, the wind of wind is black, and the wind of space is blue. Regarding size: it passes from four fingers below the navel and travels from the tip of the nose to between twelve and sixteen fingers. Furthermore, if considered in terms of the sixteen transformations, as stated previously: "The wind of earth, and water, and fire, these winds sequentially produce, acting upwards and downwards, upwards from both left and right, the mandala circulates sequentially." Therefore, the winds that circulate are the four: earth, water, fire, and wind. These themselves, due to the distinction of left and right, also cause the twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths in one day to become eight periods. Each of the four great elements has four small elements, so there are sixteen transformations. This is also because of the distinction between left and right, so it is hours.
