Abandoning laziness and the like, one should not transgress the samaya. Without indulging in mockery and sleep, one should not transgress the samaya. By striving and accepting, one should not transgress the samaya. Having realized the meaning of non-duality through view, one should not transgress the samaya. By acting without contradicting the meaning and without completely judging, one should not transgress the samaya. If these one hundred and eight are protected, it is nectar, it is wisdom, it is Buddha, it is Vajrasattva, it is Samantabhadra. All the Buddhas of the three times also, severance, are not enlightened by any means other than protecting this samaya. Therefore, all the Buddhas praise the samaya. If this samaya is not protected, it is like drinking poison. No matter what Dharma practice one knows, one will go to the Avici hell. From the Great Torma Tantra. The chapter on the one hundred and eight branch samayas, the twentieth chapter is complete. Vajrasattva also said, these are the signs of broken samaya. When a yogi acts like a minister of worldly affairs, using means to slander others, fighting and arguing, taking sides, seeking fame and power, these are signs of broken samaya. When a yogi, without certainty, gathers sons of lineage, relying on the power of universal offerings, oppressing with the power of Jagat, indulging in arrogance, and being devoid of compassion, these are signs of broken samaya. Even if the secret command of secret mantra is widely spread, it is a sign of broken samaya. If one views views with partiality, it is also a sign of broken samaya. If one considers Dharma to be good or bad, it is also a sign of broken samaya. If one diminishes and exploits compassion, it is also a sign of broken samaya. If one divides the Dharma of yoga into two categories, it is also a sign of broken samaya. If one teaches the Dharma of yoga to those with bad qualities, it is also a sign of broken samaya. If one treats the poor and afflicted harshly, it is also a sign of broken samaya. From the Great Torma Tantra. The chapter showing the signs of broken samaya, the twenty-first chapter is complete. Vajrasattva also said, broken samaya

These are the actions of (breaking) vows: not striving for the cause, but expecting a great result; having no accomplishments of one's own, but actually expecting others; not practicing, but expecting to attain accomplishment; not guarding vows, but wanting to have power; not having studied and practiced Vajrayana, but wanting to be wise and virtuous; not having received outer and inner empowerments, but acting as a guru, these are all actions of breaking vows. Putting the hat of an unwise person on a wise person is also a fault and action of breaking vows. Giving praise of a wise person to an unwise person is also an action of breaking vows. Erasing the lineage of the guru who has received the oral instructions, but establishing the lineage from the perspective of faith, this is also doing the action of breaking vows. Saying "no" to the Dharma that others practice truthfully according to the oral instructions, but greatly praising the Dharma that is not oral instructions, this is also an action of breaking vows. Destroying the oral instruction lineage of the Buddhas of the past, burning (the scriptures), praising and promoting those "well-spoken words" made by ordinary people who have not yet attained enlightenment, this is also doing the action of breaking vows. Even if believing in the definitive oral instructions written by other wise people, but judging the bodies of sentient beings and not listening, this is also an action of breaking vows. For those who have received oral instructions, not listening in terms of meaning, but using the excuse of having received (oral instructions) to escape and show off, this is also an action of breaking vows. The offerings of yogis, etc., are misappropriated and concealed from each other, this is also an action of breaking vows. Not observing the capacity, but wanting to have many retinues and sanghas, thus making all the secret mantras widely known, this is also an action of breaking vows. Distinguishing between "you" and "I" in speech, and uttering arrogant words, this is also an action of breaking vows. For the merits that others have, not proclaiming them but being happy to erase them, but proclaiming the faults of others, this is the action of breaking vows. Thinking that oneself is accomplished and superior, but thinking that others are low and not accomplished, this is the action of breaking vows. Acting like this, hoping to become better, but will not become better. Acting like this, hoping to achieve accomplishment, but will not achieve accomplishment.
