Like seeking gold by perceiving it as gold dust, one will not see all forms and find it. Why is that? Because it has all forms, but lacks wisdom. Lord of Lanka, what is subtle wisdom? The most subtle wisdom is this: by truly knowing the nature of one dharma, one truly knows the nature of all dharmas. One will naturally know all the subtle particles, various shapes, names, symbols, characteristics, terms, and designations. Because it has all forms, and wisdom and form are inseparable, liberated from the nature of both. Therefore, there is no dharma that is unseen or unknown. Lord of Lanka, what is profound wisdom? What is the most profound wisdom? Some people seek and distinguish the edge, depth, end, and center of all dharmas. These should not be called having profound wisdom, but should be called reaching the end. Why is that? Like those who are deluded mistake a mirage for water and pursue it, or blind people seek the edge of the sky. Even if one seeks the edge, depth, end, and center of all dharmas, one cannot find them, nor can one distinguish them. Lord of Lanka, one who truly understands that all dharmas have no edge, no depth, no end, and no center is called having profound wisdom, the most profound wisdom. Why is that? Because all the intentions of all Buddhas are free from conceptualization. Lord of Lanka, therefore, for the nature of secret mantras, because it is extremely difficult to measure, it should be observed with subtle wisdom, the most subtle wisdom, profound wisdom, the most profound wisdom. The questioner said: Secret Lord, what kind of metaphor should be referred to in order to understand the realm of secrets? The answerer said: Lord of Lanka, there is nothing in the world that can be used as a metaphor for the realm of secrets. If for the time being a close and obvious metaphor is to be used, then the sky can be taken as a reference. However, the sky cannot be compared to it, because there is no more obvious metaphor in the world than the sky. Therefore, the holy ones said that it should be understood by referring to the sky. The questioner said: Secret Lord, how should the realm of secrets and the sky be combined so that the Dharma meanings are consistent? The answerer said: Lord of Lanka, the realm of secrets and the sky itself are in all respects

The reason for non-conformity is that self-awareness is emptiness, and ignorance is also emptiness. Said: Lord of Secrets, then is it that the realm of secrets does not contain space? Said: Lord of Lanka, what do you think? The realm of secrets does contain space, but the scope of space does not contain the realm of secrets. Said: Lord of Secrets, what is space? Said: Lord of Lanka, space is merely that which has opportunity. Said: Lord of Secrets, then how is the realm of secrets symbolized and known through space? Said: Lord of Lanka, this is taking a conforming example, for things that have opportunity and do not have opportunity, it is impossible to exhaustively understand, and everything arises from emptiness. Although these dharmas are similar to some extent, the example of self-awareness has no direction. The realm of secrets is called self-arising wisdom because everything is self-awareness. For this wisdom, sometimes it is called non-conceptual wisdom, sometimes it is called emptiness wisdom, sometimes it is called dharmadhatu wisdom, sometimes it is called pure and clear wisdom, sometimes it is called equality wisdom, sometimes it is called discriminating awareness wisdom, sometimes it is called accomplishing activity wisdom. Lord of Lanka, for these, they are also called space-like wisdom, mirror-like wisdom, great-like wisdom, various adorned wisdom, and wish-fulfilling jewel-like wisdom. Lord of Lanka, the mirror is taking a conforming example, eliminating faults, generating goodness, making it clear, generating images, without effort, without manifest fabrication, not having, not not having, not near, not far, arising from all, not completely limited, not other, not obscured, not darkness, not kalpa. Lord of Lanka, although these dharmas are similar to some extent, the example of self-awareness itself has no direction. Lord of Lanka, greatness is taking a conforming example, completely perfect.
