In the place that has become a saint's abode, Following are offerings that are reasonable and appropriate. The wealth of riches and the best of clothes, Precious foods and so on. Make them happy with poverty and begging. Therefore, diseases and poverty, etc., The suffering of hunger and heat, Will not plant sins either. Requests, begging, the sick, And those who sit desiring to hear the scriptures, And those who do not understand the conduct of the saints, In the same place with the saints, Not understanding service is not a sin either. Act according to how things happen. Act with calmness, gentleness, listening, inquiry, and doubt. From the field of appearance of sacred conduct, do not engage in reckless and significant actions. After adorning oneself, maintain a beautiful demeanor, And abide with mindfulness. All the coverings of the body, do not display them where they can be seen or felt. The actions of the body that appear, are not the actions of someone with intelligence. Any actions that are done after gathering, Are not suitable for a sacred gathering. Do not engage in frivolous, scattered, greedy, or unpacified behavior in the place of conduct. The bodily actions that arise from the elements, after concealing, hiding, protecting, or covering them, make everything comfortable, restrained, and gentle, and do whatever is beautiful for the sacred one. Whenever the sacred one moves the seat, in whatever direction, strive to serve them diligently. Move, arrange, knead, wipe, and spread the seat, applying various methods. When conditions are not met, provide comfort as much as possible. Make efforts in advance, gather words and service. After it is completed, do the same. If a wise person employs the four modes of conduct, then serve with reverence and respect. Any disrespectful or indifferent actions, should never be done. Serving, residing, offering, etc., before doing things and while eating, immerse yourself in service and do your best. Inquire about comfort and so on through service. In the presence of a true ascetic, provide service whenever and wherever appropriate. Never mention their name directly, but address them as sacred one, guru, spiritual friend, etc., and add a respectful term at the end of the title. Make distinctions in every aspect. According to the teachings, say "please." Receive the words spoken with folded hands. Follow the words and actions of the sacred one. All of this is a symbol of service. Maintaining a beautiful demeanor, with reverence, request courage, permission, and grace. With a gentle attitude free from deceit and arrogance, perform all the services and considerations. With the conduct of a monk, avoid actions such as arrogance, and abandon ornaments and symbols. Even wisdom and reverence themselves, should be used to restrain oneself, and avoid becoming a source of criticism from others.
